Meanwhile they're taking their best show, Happy Endings, and canceling it.  I'll watch the SHIELD show, especially if they give Whedon the reigns and let him just go with it, but I'm not optimistic of a bunch of TV shows worked around Disney properties that are just laying around.

ABC really should consider putting Gravity Falls in their prime time line up.  Its easily better than any of Seth McFarlane's crap-o-rama cartoons on Fox, and look at the ratings those get.

Which is kind of an interesting point. I know the recent history of animated shows on the big three networks have been kind of grim, but why is FOX the only one remotely interested in trying to put on an animated show? At the very least, you'd think NBC might try something.

If NBC did it then people would call them FOX. Fox own adult animation.

I might finally have a second American television show that's important enough to watch live.

/Archer, since this half-season of Community went turgid
//worked for Chuck, though, but they didn't lose their creator/showrunner

I'm actually sitting through the Tales of the Gold Monkey on DVD Netflix. Apparently, the creators of the show didn't like Germans or non-whites. Especially non-whites.

Roddy McDowell is gone; the other dead cast member played the alcoholic mechanic. He was Robert Redford's nephew and Redford helped get him a role that got him his union card. He died of liver failure.

JosephFinn: They could try sticking Bunheads over on the main ABC channel.  The show's too good for ABC Family.

This...

xcv: They could have put Tron:Uprising on ABC.

...and this. Seriously, ABC Family is watched almost exclusively by tween and early teen girls. Crap like Secret Life (easily the worst scripted show on TV) and Pretty Little Liars is right up their alley. Bunheads appeals to a far older demographic that passes right over ABC Family without even checking to see what's on.

And Tron: Uprising...dammit, what a fiasco. Yes, let's sink tons of money into a show that has a pretty broad appeal and dump it on a channel that very few people even get (I can't get Disney XD unless I go into the $150 per month tier that has everything, most people that I've recommended the show to end up not even having it as an option and aren't as willing as I am do blind-buy an iTunes Season Pass) and do minimal promotion. Then, when that blows up in our faces, let's go on an indefinite hiatus, come back without warning and move it to Sunday at midnight, then whine when we lose what few viewers we have left because no one knows it's back.

I'm seriously thinking that this is why people are abandoning traditional TV. Not because of a proliferation of web content, but because of the further splintering into boutique channels like ABC Family and Disney XD and piss-poor decision making on programming across those channels.

Bet it sounded good to the MBA's.
"Look, we'll splinter ABC into 9 different niche channels covering everything from family entertainment to sci fi and cartoons.  Then we'll find one or two MUST WATCH shoes to put on each channel that we otherwise would have put into a KILLER network channel. Now, this is the great part. We'll put some of those mediocre shows on Network, a couple on basic cables, but we'll put the really great ones on higher tiers. People will be begging to upgrade their cable service to get the extra channels and those extra shows. If we could just somehow merge with Disney or Comcast, thinking the synergy we would create. It can't lose! "

I would like to see a gritty reboot of 'The Rescuers.' Seriously. Cold War-era U.N. workers, a Hungarian post-1956 refugee-turned-diplomat mouse and American janitor mouse, go undercover to rescue kidnapped kids. I would watch the fark out of that. Even if they weren't mice...though of course, that's part of the point...

Couldn't you see Miss Bianca performing the coup de grace on some mook with a tiny, mouse-sized Walther PPK?
