Thanks Subby. Now I want to go to Tom's and get me some deep fried cheese curds.

Well done,  subby.Fark runs on ads, and Deslide has none, so I'm amazed the modmins greenlit this one. May circumventing slide shows in favor of Deslide links become the submitting norm from now on!

I lived in Delaware for over 15 years and not only did I never see one of those crab rangoon pastry-puffs, I never even heard of them.

Scrapple would be a much better choice, though they gave NC livermush, which is similar, but NC could just as easily get whole-hog bbq and the problem would be solved.

On account of the deslideification.  It's not about presentation, it's about extracting the content.

I've lived my whole life in NC, and I've never once heard of livermush. And there are some down-home deep-South bonified rednecks in my family.

I'm going to go with 'this author picked crap at random out of Google searches'.

I was okay till Indiana's Fried-Brain Sandwich

3 - I'm happy SC got turducken
4 - liver mush is delicious

I've never understood the tendency to make burgers and sandwiches so big that no human could possibly fit them in their mouth. How the fark are you even supposed to eat that?

I've done fried brain sandwiches before, they aren't bad. kinda like tofu, tasted like the breading more than anything else

Some one merge that with google maps, and I can plan my next vacation.

I don't see how the 26 minute joke applies here.  I mean, I guess it makes sense but it's usually used in the context of a superficiality/shallowness of one's character.

repeat/still haven't heard of livermush

2013-04-07 07:10:22 PM
About twice a month I stop by Dairy Queen for a FlameThrower burger, but I go for the 1/4 pound version. The normal 1/2 pound is just too much meat.

Interesting list, but can you tell me with a straight face that the most fattening food item found in Texas is a corndog?

2013-04-07 07:14:06 PM
Michigan, New York and Vermont seem to be the fat content winners.
I actually had the Beignet at Cafe du Mond in New Orleans. Friend I was with said it was one of those required things if you are in New Orleans. It was not that great.

For CA, Tommy's chili cheeseburgers should on that list instead of the Double-Double.

At the Minnesota State Fair you can actually buy deep-fried butter.

Awww dammit, now I want a plate of fried cheese curds and a bottle of New Glarus.

California showed In-N-Out Burger??  Really???

You know how I know the author never visited a decent San Diego Mexican joint?  They didn't list Carne Asada Fries.  that's right mu-fuggahs...pile of french fries, topped with carne asada beef, guacamole, salsa fresca, cheese (sometimes shredded, sometimes nacho sauce), sour cream, and as much salsa as you can handle on the side.

Of all the fatting shiat in Texas, they go with the farking corndog?  A goddamn CORNDOG?  Cheezus on a Raptor.  What about something like... deep-fried fajitas or chili with cornbread or something?

corndogs... what in the fark is the world coming to?

I did not get fat on farking hotdogs dropped in cornbread.

Louisiana: Beignet

Yea, well..It's fried dough.  But how about a po-boy made of hollowed-out French bread, with layer upon layer of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and fried shrimp, then topped off with melted butter?

So they can get Man V food or Guy Fairy to go there and give them free publicity.

Has anyone here actually tried the krispy kreme burger? It looks like something I would like to eat once, but I suspect the combination of two awesome things maybe doesn't result in something appetizing.

Neese's sells pretty good Scrapple made in Greensboro and have you North Carolinians never been to Nahunta?  That's some righteous liver mush.

The items listed below are acceptable food
The others are suitable for children and fat people.

Arkansas: Catfish
Florida: Empanadas
Louisiana: Beignet
Maine: Lobster roll
Maryland: Smith Island Cake
Massachusetts: Chocolate chip cookies
New Hampshire: New England Clam Chowder
Virginia: Ham
Washington: Crab Louis Salad

BGates: Lamb?

Yeah, that surprised me, too. A lamb chop doesn't really belong on the same list as a garbage plate and a bacon pile sandwich, does it?

2013-04-07 07:36:18 PM
First the list fails for labeling KC in Kansas. Second burnt ends is the proper name for the dish. Third when they get to Missouri they pick a Hardee's burger. Toasted ravioli, gooey butter cake, or springflied style cashew chicken would be better picks

Oooh, that meatloaf has some possibilities.  I think I would go for a leaner beef mixture, since the bacon's playing the fat.  That would be awesome with ground venison.

2013-04-07 07:38:59 PM
the loco moco and hot beef sundaes sound good.
livermush just sounds like scrapple.
chicken fried steak is amazing.
and the cheese steak? Of course.
And deep fried cheese curds? If you've never had these, you're missing out. AMAZING.

Bob Evans was the best they could come up with for the entire state of O-hi-uh? How about the entire menu at Sokolowski's University Inn?

I  highly endorse it.
