I love the Star Trek Mirror Universe episodes. The DS9 ones were simply fun, and the Enterprise two-parter was one of the high points of Trek.

 I'm a comics fan and I couldn't agree with most of their picks on that score. The Ultimates universe? Really? I hated the concept when it was pitched and time's not softened that much. The only good thing I had to say about it is that it probably acted as a pressure release valve that kept Jemas and Quesada from pulling a Crisis at Marvel, flushing decades of character history and replacing them with almost relentless ugliness masquerading as "edginess" and "attitude.".

I'll take a couple more versions of this please.

Yeah, sadly it's this "creative" loop they've gotten set up with the official Marvel movies that's coming into play. It's why Tony Stark now retroactively has an arc reactor in his chest and Nick Fury had an interracial affair years ago that's come back to haunt him and take his job. After a while I started trying to give it protectively selective attention.

   Axel Alonso, currently in the big editor's chair at Marvel, has instituted Marvel Now, with the driving concept being, essentially, do it differently than the people who had the character/title prior to this. Change - at least cosmetically - for change's sake. I believe he even openly lamented that continuity and shared universe elements are a requirement for the market. I'm trying to figure out if he's just trying to overload it until it breaks down, which is just about the only reason for having three Avengers titles and finding the respective teams each facing a separate global (well, okay, one of the three has been more domestic) threat.

According to IMDB:  Lost in Space's The Antimatter Man originally aired December 27, 1967 and Star Trek's Mirror, Mirror originally aired October 6, 1967.  So by air date, Mirror, Mirror.
