The Dog Ate My Homework: Why is it that, every time conservatives find themselves in any kind of predicament, their immediate solution is always to just double down and become even more extreme? If they were in charge of rehab for alcoholics, their solution would be to drink even more.

It is anathema to them to contemplate change.  It's scary.  Therefore, the solution is to ALWAYS try what they've tried just a lot harder/with more prayer.

sugardave: Okay, then. The only time I see their tired shiat is if someone quotes them. Asking someone to judge is someone is being sincere in their Fark posts is pretty subjective don't you think? I could say "yes, I think the mouthbreathers that pop in and post their bullshiat are sincere" and you could say "no, they're not." At the end of the day, they are representing the views of GOPpers to whomever is looking. If you think they are hurting "your team" to the point you have to whine about the jokes, maybe you should do more to muzzle them. Otherwise, let them pound it loud and proud and let the snark fall where it may. And limiting to Fark is a bit disingenuous, isn't it? I mean, GOPpers are ALL over the place spouting shiat like this ALL THE TIME. Let me guess....it's not acceptable to use experiences outside of Fark (where the resident GOPpers may have become SLIGHTLY less vocal) to make fun of GOPpers?

please, you can't tell the trolls from the sincere ones? And no, if you're just spouting the same cliched "jokes" because of something you read on freerepublic, it's not terribly amusing especially without the context. Sorry.

sugardave: I know, it sucks always losing the humor battle. But, GOPpers are so much better than librulz in every other way, so surely you can let that one slide.

the Dems have the GOP beat in pretty much every way. What IS amusing is that you conflate Dems with "librulz" just like the GOP does and somehow don't see how mocking them in that way mocks you in that way as well.
Misspelling stuff... not real funny either. Just thought I'd mention that.

Fart_Machine: skullkrusher: sugardave: skullkrusher: sugardave: It IS funny because GOPpers are still un-ironically waving that flag. Until they stop, as a prior poster mentioned, it's open season for mockery and ridicule. That you don't find the humor just means you wish GOPpers would stop it (maybe, I don't really know) because they keep making their ideas and themselves targets.

do you ever see anyone around here making such comments? Honestly, who do you speak with any frequency on these boards speak that way sincerely?

The "jokes" may be relevant if people are still saying that sort of thing but they aren't funny and that's what the conversation is about. The innovative and creative spirits inherent in liberals. Now THAT is funny.

/not really

Are you seriously asking me if there are thread posters on Fark that decry Obama's policies as Socialism, he engages in class warfare, and that he is out to destroy America?  Really?

yes. I am honestly asking that. Who does so sincerely? If you are gonna say you dudes make the same tired jokes because of what a bunch of cheese or randomj say...

They can't all be trolls or troll alts can they?

There is a non-zero chance that they are, but I'm certain there is at least one that is sincere about his hatred of all things lib/Obama.

The link to Living Under ObamaCare is just precious.

Their centerpiece is a whine about how costs will go up because more people will be getting healthcare...

"I got a mammogram for free even though I could have easily made my co-payment. I didn't feel right at all because I can afford it, whereas that money could have been used for someone else who can't."

But I still took the free mammogram . . .

And that bit of concern is also coming from the same people that hold up signs like this:
[blog.oregonlive.com image 239x371]

And they somehow can't figure out why they aren't taken seriously.

You know what kills me about that picture? That horribly smug look on his very young face.

seriously man, you aren't doing yourself any favors here. In fact, when posting you hardly ever do. Perhaps this will help:

Can you think of something that is amusing that is not funny? Can you be amused and not be laughing at the same time?
Did you ever find yourself sitting on the couch tossing a tennis ball against the wall, amusing yourself for a few minutes? Are you able to do this without laughing? If so, stop making an ass of yourself, there's your answer. If not, get help because tossing a tennis ball isn't farking funny and you're probably nuts if it causes you to laugh

why does it have to "require" it for it to be possible to be amused but not to find something funny? Answer: it doesn't. The reason du jour why you decide you want to fark around with someone, you should fark around with someone more on your... umm... level. Try 10 lbs

cameroncrazy1984: skullkrusher: why does it have to "require" it for it to be possible to be amused but not to find something funny?

Because they mean the same thing? For something to be amusing but not funny you have to change the definition of one or both words. That's how synonyms work.

nope. They don't mean the same thing. The sets of amusing and funny things are not identical. Something CAN be both amusing and funny, funny and amusing however, something does not have to be funny to be amusing. Again, tennis balls against the wall.

Logical operators like "or" mean things.

The Why Not Guy: skullkrusher: What about it? Are you honestly using a but Palin in defense of tired and worn out jokes? She doesn't really come to mind when I think of innovation and a creative sense of humor. For me at least.

Your position appears to be that Liberals beat jokes into the ground, and when someone provided an example of Conservatives doing the same, you said it didn't count because it's just "one person around here". So I provided an example that's more than just "one person around here".

Liberals on Fark DO beat jokes into the ground. The fact that Sarah Palin does as well does not change that and frankly has nothing whatsoever to do with it. Hell, if Sarah Palin had a Fark handle and beat jokes into the ground it would STILL have nothing to do with whether Fark liberals do. The fact that you find that to be a defense is pretty perplexing especially when she is roundly considered to be an idiot. In summary, A) the fact that she does has nothing to do with whether Fark libs do and B) you just just tried a both sides are unfunny using Sarah Palin as an example.

Oh, I get it. You don't understand the definition of "synonym" either

For some reason, I also clicked on the "living under Obamacare link so I had the pleasure of seeing this:

"The ObamaCare requirement affects my daughter who is 23 and just got her 2nd Master's degree. Tricare young adults charges more than she can make as a babysitter and nanny-the only work she can find in this small city. Now she will be fined under ObamaCare."

WTF? Your daughter has two masters degrees, she's a babysitter and your concern is Obamacare?!?!?!?!?! She got two masters degrees to do the job of a 13 year-old girl?

Isn't it if she can't afford the coverage she gets it for free?  Maybe the parent is concerned that Obama will turn that snowflake into a Socialist Taker.  It's a valid concern.  So very concerning.

No, I didn't. I'm saying both sides run jokes into the ground. Whether those jokes are funny or not is for people to decide for themselves.
