What smells like shrimp?

I would think a woman with a poor sense of smell would be the perfect match for many a Farker.

That *is* a ridiculously small sample size.

I have a sense of smell, but not nearly as acute as my wife's. My wife regularly asks "what IS that smell? Can't you smell that?"  (It's usually something in the kitchen that remained long after it's useful date)

The only thing that I can smell that she can't is marijuana smoke. Her mom died of cancer years ago, and near the end used marijuana to cope, so you'd think she'd recognize it.

I would have thought it would be the reverse.  A guy with a good sense of smell might turn away a girl with some odor issues, especially if the offending odor was coming from between her legs.  The guy with the poor sense of smell would just carry on.

That said, my sense of smell has diminished a lot in the past few years, to the point where I don't seem to be able to smell even the foulest odors unless I get super close, and I seem to be perpetually single.  So I guess I prove their point.

In the past few months, I've just been hit on a ridiculous number of times. Ridiculous.

I was at a work event  a few months back and three women -- 22, 32 and 42 all hit on me.  The youngest was the most persistent.

Last week, i was propositioned again. And last night, out at a bar, the bartender gave me her number.  I didn't even ask.

I'm in a multi-year relationship and am happy with her.  She's great, and hot, and we're solid.  I'm outgoing, i guess, and tall, and i like people.  But i've always been all of those things.

I'm pushing 45, and have never had women throwing themselves at me like this. I'm not trying to be all passive-aggressively looking for validation here, just honestly asking -- what. the. hell? Is there some pheromone-y thing or subconscious vibe i am giving off?  Of have women changed so much?

Someone 'splain this to me. Y'all are cheaper than my therapist.  K thanks.

You take the number of partners that normal men have, divide it by 5, and you end up with the number of partners men who can't smell have. It's poorly worded, but it's a pretty simple concept. I can't believe you couldn't figure it out.

Results are meaningless.  The cell sizes for men are 10 and 15.  No statistical power with such a small N and wildly inappropriate to generalize to the larger population based on this.

Total number of times I've been hit on in my life: 0. And I'm 38. So just enjoy it and stop worrying.

the study seems, however, to confirm that women are the one choosing their partners, and not men.
Because the women without smell weren't handicaped as men were.
