Oh for farks sake, just lift the damn embargo.  It's Cuba, not Nazi Germany.

When are we going to lift the travel restrictions on Cuba? If you want to put an end to the communist regime, just pour some good ol' American dollars into their economy and watch how quickly the wonders of capitalism take hold.

Probably because it's one of the few paces where there's no paparazzi. And it's got nice beaches.

Why we let a handful of shiat for brains Cubans in Miami dictate our foreign policy is beyond me.

Been there myself a few times a few years ago when it was easier to go legally. However, I did get a sternly-worded letter from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) demanding an accounting of my trip under pain of penalty, etc.

However, OFAC requested an accounting of a trip and had the dates listed incorrectly in their letter. I simply sent them a letter stating that I did not travel to Cuba on the dates they listed and therefore did not need to provide an accounting of my trip.

Never heard from them again. Pretty stupid mistake they made there.

Lift the embargo!

wonder if Cuba would take Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart back since they only pander to the Hispanic community and can care less about us English speakers in their districts.

Flint Ironstag: Forbidden Doughnut: phenn: saintstryfe: Because they're rich farks who can do what they want?

I think us poor farks should be able to do what we want as well. I'm not outraged by Bey and Jay. A little miffed that any American should have to get permission to travel where they wish.

THIS.

I have no desire to go there, but I SHOULD have that freedom of choice.

/ IIRC, pretty much everyone else on Earth can go there, except us...

I've always wondered why the US has this embargo on Cuba but happily trades with China.

And how the US can claim to be land of the free while forbidding its own citizens from going somewhere. How does that work?

it works because its Propaganda.   most folks aren't smart enough to figure out they've been tricked.

How much would we have to pay Cuba to keep them

Best kickstarter ever.

Would it not be better to investigate why we let them back in?
