(Hot Air)   MSNBC brings on a political expert, who is a little more intelligent than their average viewer, to talk about gay marriage. That's right a 5 year old girl   (hotair.com) divider line 98

It took a while, but it appears that MSNBC and Fox have finally achieved parity when it comes to the maturity level of experts.

No such luck for Hot Air, which is busy comparing marriage to abortion. I'll give them a few years to raise up to the intelligence level of a 5 year old, but it might be wishful thinking on my part.

2013-04-07 01:03:33 AM
That kid probably has more intelligence than all of Faux News' commentators combined.

2013-04-07 01:28:42 AM
Wow, that's even younger than the kid FOX had on.

Leave the kids out of it, f*cksticks.  Indoctrinate them in the privacy of your own home, please.

Fox News had those little girls with a lemonade stand talking about taxes and regulations, and Rush just gave an iPad to a 13 year old who 'proved' global warming is a hoax.

So.. yeah

Rachel is older than 5.
And a boy.

But at least subby got the smarter part right.

Is Hot Air jealous of her maturity?

Alan Keyes. His finger pointing.

It's a dumb segment but Hot Air then amps it up to Derpcon One.  The Politico comments section is batshait insane however.

Ees funny because Hot Air is run by functional retards

Kids aren't born bigots.

And the hell I can't marry a tree!

Nothing stupid about it. She's the future where people will look back, scratch their heads and wonder why we didn't give the bigots a good tarring and feathering.

Everyone knows you have to be at least 11 to publicly announce a position on gay marriage

And the right place is a state legislature, not a cable show

No.  It is stupid.  She was obviously coached, at least a little.  You can grab any 5 year old and ask them if marriage is 'something' between two people who love each other very much, and as long as they're not experiencing a divorce at the moment they'll probably agree with you.

Of course the same kid would probably also say that Polar Bears should get married before they mate, and also try to marry the pets.

It's stupid to showcase it.

Global warming caused by greenhouse gases is a hoax, not that extra CO2is a good thing, it's not. But when you cover up the entire Pacific with cloud cover from planes spraying chemtrails and other geoengineering however, you will stunt evaporation and certainly have climate change.

Yeah, if you're under 18, while I'd encourage you to develop political opinions so that they're refined when you become an adult, you can't vote so yours don't actually count.  I'm not sure what the point of this dumbfarkery is, though I guess by now it qualifies as a traditional news stunt.

2013-04-07 03:56:58 AM
Seriously, can we stop putting 5 year olds on TV to comment on political issues?

Obnoxious and stupid, but, ya know what? Fark hot air for that "article."

I've been wanting to ask for months now, where the hell did this meme come from?  I remember first seeing it as related to Palin, but I really have no idea.  What article stated that something, something therefore someone else is now president?

I recall reading, in 2009, a Farker recounting a dubious argument presented by a "birther" that disproving President Obama's "natural born" status would retroactively invalidate the Obama/Biden ticket in the 2008 election, which would result in the McCain/Palin ticket winning by default. The "birther" then argued that Senator McCain would immediately resign the Presidency in the interest of national unity, allowing Mrs. Sarah Palin to take her supposedly rightful place as leader of the United States of America.

Whether the meme derives from that convoluted reasoning, or whether the similarity of that argument and the meme are coincidence, I do not know.

Gay marriage is coming. The demographics are that the younger generation overwhelmingly agrees with it.

Anyone who thinks they're going to run for president in 10-15 years that opposes it is going to look like a dinosaur by then.

What an awkward headline.  The commas make it appear to say that any political expert is a little more intelligent than the average viewer, or at least they introduce ambiguity.  By keeping the sentence together it's explicit that this political expert, specifically, is the one you're talking about.  Oh, and there's a comma or colon missing entirely from the punchline.

Consider: "MSNBC discusses gay marriage with a political expert who is a little more intelligent than their average viewer.  That's right: a 5-year-old girl."

If you're going to make a "hurr hurr; they dumb" headline, you might want to put a little more thought into how it's phrased.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got an appointment with my proctologist re: this stick.

Whoever submitted it reads Hot Air. The odds his/her IQ is above 60 is vanishingly small. You should be astound the submitter was able to turn on the computer, much less submit a headline to Fark.

CSB time

We moved down to Dallas (from Chicago) about four years ago. We were new to the area looking for something to do one day and walked upon a huge  street party in the Oak Lawn area thinking it was just some city carnival thing. It became evident this was a Gay-Pride event pretty quickly and my [then] 4 year old daughter spots a couple kissing and asks me, "Daddy, why are those two men kissing each other?", Curious as to what she thought about it I responded, "Well, why do you think people usually kiss each other?" She thought for a second and simply answered, "Because they love each other"...

Sure, my non-reaction might have helped, but her default position was acceptance. She got it then, and to this day doesn't understand what the big deal is when we have to explain something she hears at school or reads [occasionally in public] with anti-gay sentiments.

I especially like how at first she doesn't even know what marriage is, then after there's an obvious edit, she's able to say what New York marriage law allows.

And for anyone who thinks children aren't born "bigots", let's not forget what the majority of children across the world do to any child who acts too differently.

Very satisfied!

And it only took 2 comments!!!

Can't believe that sheep are still trying to defend either one of their crappy "mews" orgs.

Thread was done after the Weeners anyway.
