Y'know, back when I was desperate for a job, I would check Monster and Careerbuilder.  On both of them, for where I lived, there were always job listings for acting jobs, saying that there were acting jobs available where I lived.  The ads talked about how there were always plenty of positions as extras and they were always casting for speaking parts year-round.

As I know there is no major filming industry in Kentucky, I knew that was fishy.  As my career goals didn't involve trying to break into show business and it seemed very suspicious, I never investigated.  I always figured it was some kind of rip-off, like the so-called talent searches where you pay money to an "agent" who you never hear from again.

Ads like that as recruiting for porno?  Didn't even think of that take on it.

They have a similar scam near my house, but it's a pyramid scheme for buying and then selling crappy overpriced products like soap, shampoo and kitchen utensils at a markup. You probably could make some money if you worked at it hard enough, but if you're that driven a salesperson odds are you're actually in charge of the scam or working a better paying con.
