Best thing that could have happened to the team. Hard to count on any momentum or excitement when you know you're at most 4 days from sending that hump out to the mound.

It's a great year for mocking the Red Sox and the Yankees.

Yeah, two Ks per inning and steady velocity in the 92-94 range sure is crappy out of your fifth starter spot. Maybe they'll bring Aaron Cook back.

Give the guy a chance. I hate his face when he's fired up too, but we're stuck with him so you might as well root for him.

My thoughts exactly.  I can't believe he was even still on the roster to begin with.

Really looking forward to watching tomorrow's match-up of Lester v Dickey.

The good news is if you're on the IR list then you can have as much beer and chicken as you damn well please!

I was impressed with his command through the first couple innings.  His velocity is back as well.  He just has a stronger elbow and a weaker bicep...  Did you see how much weight he lost?  Apparently no one saw the game.

I got the joke but I'm with him. Unless there's a second joke in not getting...

it's a reference to the "beer and chicken scandal" that is alleged to have had a hand in Terry Francona's termination

I bet $5 that Terry will turn around Cleveland, even better - I bet they will have a playoff chance as well.

No kidding? Never heard of that before. It must have happened when I was in a coma.

It's disabled list not IR. IR is football.

Only Farkers can take a simple joke and wring the life out of it by going after minor details and thinking someone doesn't know how rehab works. Yea, disabled list or IR, you know what the point was anyways, right? The guy is hurt and not playing.

I'll trade you 10 mouth-breathing Lackeys for one Tito Francona.

So the real story is that the Jays (minus multiple homer champ and defensive wizard Bautista) improved to 2 - 3 with only better to come?

/go Jays go
/eff Boston forever

The Nats took 11 innings but have tied their current series at Cincinnati up with a 7-6 win to cleanse the palate from yesterdays 15-0 shellacking.

Whenever stupid Red Sox fans whine about the Yankees buying championships, uttering John Lackey's name usually shuts them up pretty quickly.  Also remind them to thank the Dodgers for taking Carl Crawford and Josh Beckett's inflated salaries off their books.

This.  Not that Dubront was stellar, but Lackey is just the kiss of defeat waiting to happen.

You forgot Adrian "smells like Palmeiro" Gonzalez and his massive contract.

Could Lackey be the Red Sox' Pavano? Hmm...
