I was thinking, if you froze 80 proof booze and then put the cubes in your mixer, so like a whiskey and coke that gets stronger as it melts, or would the booze ice cubes be so cold that theyd start freezing the drink?

I was wondering this as well- I've always been told that alcohol doesn't freeze, but anything will freeze if it gets cold enough. Why bother with making some wacky "ice cream" mixture when frozen balls of some sort of sweet liquor like coconut rum or southern comfort would be easier to make, and easier to describe to people trying them, as well as easier to control the amount of alcohol ingested? I'm inclined to try something like this, but I'd rather play it safe than risk making crappy ice cream that nobody wants.

Then again, I've posted before about my unnecessary alcohol preparations:

Left to right: Watermelon Jolly Rancher, Red Skittles, Cherry JR, Orange Skittles, Yellow Skittles, Sour Apple JR, Green Skittles, Blue Raspberry JR, Grape JR, Purple Skittles

A time-consuming and tedious process to be sure. (the skittles, anyway- Jolly Ranchers dissolve cleanly in about 24 hours)

/candy vodak is great
//my fave: red skittles with lemon juice. Sour Strawberry Lemonade. Oh my yes.

Creme de Menthe over vanilla with dark chocolate shavings from the brick you got at the local chocolatier

A couple drops is good for the kids, enough to make a milkshake for the adults.  Happiness will ensue.

I have frozen liquor before (everclear 190 proof).  The problem is the mixer freezes to the outside of the liquor so the alcohol ice cube gets bigger for awhile before eventually melting.  The coolest part though is 190 proof ethanol turns into a "glassy solid" before it actually freezes which makes it look like clear molasses but harder.

A large part of me wants to blame her for doing a shot chilled by liquid nitrogen, but a larger part of me is saying "WTF is the bartender thinking!?".  "It might be a bit gassy" is NOT in the slightest way proper warning, and your ass will be totally farked in courtroom, the bar's owner will be too.

Of course she could be lying because she was a dumb biatch and ignored any warning given, wanting to prove to the hot bartender how much of a badass she was.  Two sides to every story.

/If an establishment offers flaming shots, their insurance costs just about triple.
//Of course, that's only if the insurance company knows.

That looks pretty interesting. My girlfriend makes cordials in a similar fashion, but with fruit and vodka or brandy.
