Private_Citizen: Ok, let's get the ball rolling right:Anyone against the Death penalty for this creep?Anyone?
Cold_Sassy: You know, they really should execute people like this. You can never rehabilitate them, it's a sickness. Why waste all the money and psychiatric resources on hopeless cases?
Treygreen13: Are you implying that the possession and distribution of child pornography shouldn't be a crime?
The Muthaship: Paul Baumer: I know a lot of folks would like to forego due processBut, I assure you this: The guy is never paying another dollar of rent on his current apartment. His belongings he will either sell or give to family (or away). His car will be sold. Even if he wants to pay rent (again, he won't), the landlord will evict him as soon as possible. The boilerplate language on his lease has at least 3 clauses that can be used to remove him. He is down to zero expenses, and he will be getting that $1500/mo. the rest of his life. He can afford and should want his own counsel. Thanks for the irrelevant justice lecture, on the end. I can always use more of that.
cgraves67: Wow. He's got a thin face for a Farker.
wickedragon: So, please, I beg you. Refute me :(
Paul Baumer: Second most disturbing thing in the article -Shearen has a public defender, but that could change very soon. The judge in this case is considering removing the free attorney because Shearen gets $1,500 a month from his Navy pension and has a car which he could sell to pay for a private attorney. An 18k pension and a used car qualify for a public defender. I like gettin' tough on criminals as much as the next guy, but show trials are where I draw the line.
The Muthaship: The right to an appointed attorney is contingent on the person being unable to afford an attorney, professor. He can afford one.
Cold_Sassy: You know, they really should execute people like this. You can never rehabilitate them, it's a sickness. Why waste all the money and psychiatric resources on hopeless cases? They're broken and you can't fix them. EVER.
nburghmatt: Private_Citizen: Ok, let's get the ball rolling right:Anyone against the Death penalty for this creep?Anyone?i am. if it's found that he was touching kids or making the material himself, i might feel different.you don't get charged with murder for possessing a snuff film.
The Muthaship: Paul Baumer: Not everyone is an 18 year old in a college dorm. They have his computer stuff. And his Underoos collection. He's being held without bond, meaning he ain't about to make bond as it's not being set to begin with. His PD has probably already told him his situation. He's not paying his rent. He's not indigent, he doesn't deserve a free lawyer.
uttertosh: Exactly! This is why the judge gave my brother the death penalty; he had a sickness that cost the taxpayers lots and lots of money, and the public outcry was so great to end my brothers life, because of the waste of resources and burden to society a terminal cancer patient really is, that the judge, who was up for his quarterly review, decided to skew in favour of the mob. Fair's fair, after all.
studs up: There was a scene in a Mel Gibson movie (I believe) where the interrogator started pounding Mel's toes with a ball peen hammer to get some info. We should start there. I don't want any info. Just start there.
SuperNinjaToad: 500,000- 1 million images and videos?!??Even if he spends 2 seconds looking at each picture that is 1 to 2 million seconds.86,400 in a day. Take away sleep, eat, poop, work etc let's say he spent 2 hr a day looking at nothing but child porn. that's 7200 seconds. That's almost 300-400 days of non stop everyday consequetive child porn viewing and spending only 2 seconds each and that's only images!!! If he spends any more time it goes up exponentially.you add videos and the guy would've need to spend almost every waking moment for the rest of his life watching child porn images or videos!!!YIKES!
studs up: I know there has been a long history of judicial abuse and false imprisonments and deaths, but, does that mean that the death penalty is off the table for everyone?
Derigiberble: Someone in the news room should really think about what will show up before tagging articles.[i.imgur.com image 664x186]
autopsybeverage: Between 500,000 and one million images? Cant they just right click and look at the properties tab for the folder located at my documents\imasicklittlefarker?
uttertosh: Private_Citizen: come at me broOh, it is SO on....
blatz514: Shearen appeared antsy and was shaking while keeping his head down.I'm guessing he needed his kiddy diddler fix?
Slam Dunkz: If you can't trust the govt to manage your healthcare then you can't trust them to decide when people should be put to death^
