Wars have always been won with invisible weapons: stealth, cunning, diplomacy, predators, speed, and tenacity

FTFA:   The future of warfare is no longer about bullets and bombs, or dominating land, sea and air. Instead, tomorrow's victors will dominate the ether.

It's been that way since WWII, and arguably since WWI.The victors in pretty much every conventional conflict for 100 years or so have dominated their opponents in the aether.

The problem is, without the bullets and bombs to back that domination up, it's worthless.  You could completely dominate your opponent electronically, but if you don't have the resources to actually *FIGHT* them, you're screwed.

I'm still waiting for the day of cyber warfare using huge Spaceballs-like VR helmets, while moving around square blocks and randomly opening 8-bit doors with a crescendo of  midi music playing in the background.

The voice of the foreign military commander is sinister and gloating.

"On the anniversary of our nation's most glorious sea victory, let us remember our heroes that helped bring the United States to its knees," he says, his face obscured by shadows. "We ground to dust the vaunted American navy like the impotent clay figurines that they had become."

Apparently our next greatest threat comes from COBRA.

So it won't be fraught in space (or on very high mountains), and most of the combat done by robots?

\It won't be our duty to build and maintain those robots?

"I Wanna Be Like You" by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman
from Walt Disney's The Jungle Book.

Verse 1:
Now [Am]I'm the king of the swingers
Oh, the jungle VI[E7]P,
I've reached the top and had to stop
And that's what botherin' [Am]me.
I wanna be a man, mancub,
And stroll right into [E7]town
And be just like the other men
I'm tired of monkeyin' a[Am]round!
Chorus:
[G7]Oh, [C]oo-bee-doo
I wanna be like [A7]you
I wanna [D7]walk like you,
[G7]Talk like you [C]too.
You'll [G7]see it's [C]true
An ape like [A7]me
Can [D7]learn to be [G7]human [C]too.
Verse 2:
Now [Am]don't try to kid me, mancub
I made a deal with [E7]you
What I desire is man's red fire
To make my dream come [Am]true.
Give me the secret, mancub,
Clue me what to [E7]do
Give me the power of man's red flower
So I can be like [Am]you.
Chorus

worse yet, how does she remember where she parked it?  I know people who can't remember where they park their visible cars.

Also, does an invisible jet require a set of invisible keys?   If women have such a difficult time finding a set of visible keys in their purse, how can you expect them to react quickly in an emergency when they are in a panic looking for a set of invisible keys?

Either spelling is correct, "ether" or "aether", but I prefer the more archaic British spelling because it just has a more romantic feel to it.  Like there is something magic about it, which, if you've ever tried to dig the weak Morse peepings of a rare DX station out of the static, you'd understand.
