Pretty sure the video drivers don't work

This story isn't a repeat but I'm pretty sure we've seen the gun greened before. And it's .338 not .308

drjekel_mrhyde: Pretty sure the video drivers don't work

I was going to say the audio drivers would randomly lock up- until I saw the video and it looks like that is exactly what happened.

A Linux rifle would never work with the .308 cartridge, subby -- that's a "Win." round.

(As noted above, the .338 is the Lapua round.)

That being said, sudo sub-MOA.

Yes, an article on this has been greened before.  I still wonder what could happen if there's a glitch in the software.

Yup

This does not seem like it would be all that fun to shoot. It seems like the only real challenge is decreasing the delay between squeezing the trigger and the gun actually firing. :-/

Completely untrained people getting first shot hits on a head-sized target at 1000 yards? That must be giving the Secret Service all sorts of warm fuzzies.

You still have to dial in the wind, so you have to be able to determine wind velocity with accuracy to make the shot, not easy for the untrained, plus I have heard of no testing on a actual moving target; bonging steel is fun but steel does not move. I am sure the SS is as worried as they were when Glock introduced it's " invisible plastic" pistol to the US

Still sounds like it would be neat to shoot

For $17,000 you could get a baker's dozen of normal snipers set up with good enough guns and they're already good at preventing that.

Meh - gives NSA an excuse to secretly track all iPads through that facility they're building in Utah. Just in case.

Your argument is flawed, because they copied the /windows directory into the WINE /var folder, and set the conf file to use it's dll files to allow WIN ammunition to be used.

And they did so in a way that would make 95% of the Average Computer users smash their computers, but at least they can feel superior for not selling out to OSX.

as long as they keep making people we'll keep making better ways to kill them

I know some guys in radar design who might have a windage solution for ya but the prototype will weigh 500 pounds and require mains power.

Didn't you get the memo? "Lapua Magnum" is the new Cop-killing/Hi-capacity/Baby-seeking/Assault Weapon/Magazine Clip.

Nope. This one includes the magic of an iPad. Beatniks. Totally *new* story. Not like you could use any old wi-fi enabled kit to look at the stream.

Sheesh.

Would still sell my in-laws for a plink or two...
