Goddamn it, none of that stuff defies physics.

DRTFA, but I'm guessing it's more "6 substances that show cool aspects of physics." on two pages.
/ heads off to read the article, it better damn well have Glorp. (cornstarch and water non-newtonian fluid)

Wow, some of you just must be a blast at parties.

Quantum Apostrophe must corner people individually throughout the evening, twisting whatever conversation might be going on into an anti-space screed. While Mike1969 is constantly biatching about semantics, and demanding higher quality repartee, lest people accidentally laugh at something stupid/silly.

Mikey1969: And no, it's not an "obsessive grudge", it's people tired of the bullshiat, and one of the most consistent bullshiat generators out there is your beloved Cracked. When they can learn what words mean, when they can put out consistent quality, and when they stop abusing adjectives like "insanely" and phrases like "blow your mind", maybe people will quit pointing and laughing.

Either you have no sense of humor, or you want others to have no sense of humor.

I can't figure out which.

Some laws of physics I missed the first go around:

Substances cannot have a melting point near 35C.
Substances cannot react with other substances.
No substance can form a gas more dense than air.
Substances  cannot form nonpolar molecules.
Substances STILL cannot react with other substances.
Substances cannot form supersaturated liquids.
Substances cannot undergo phase changes.

That physics! It sure does have a lot of laws!

I didnt click the link because I expected this to be the case. Worthless Cracked.

Better than those worthless, comment disabled, sponsored links.

know! It's almost like a humor site might use some form of hyperbole in it's headlines, but what sort of sense does that make, especially since Cracked has absolutely no history of using exaggeration for humorous effect.

It's literally unbelievable that those dorks wouldn't realize that none of those materials actually violate any of the laws of physics. Literally!

skozlaw: What's worse? A Cracked article or a bunch of Fark posters biatching about it because they don't understand the phrase "figure of speech"?

Worse than both are people who come to a website for snark and complain about snark.

Dammit, no glorp.

It did have Sulfur Hexafluoride though... I have fond memories of being the physics aide in high school and having access to the chemical closet which had tanks of SF6 and helium. One time the physics teacher came in and asked if I had a demonstration ready, and I and the chem aide both nodded wordlessly. As soon as he left the chem aide went Whoo! like a chipmunk while I went Whoo! like James Earl Jones.

If nothing else, it was worth clicking just for the video where Kelly Ripa and Neil Patrick Harris inhale sulfur hexafluoride.

the only "things" that defy physics are Metaphysical.

gallium goes into an amalgam with aluminum, mercury also does that.  it's sort of like mixing salt into water.  oooh salt solid, water liquid, now both liquid!

if you DNRTA   there is not reason to as the author just does not understand.

This, and the whole "Shaun white defies gravity" makes me weep for American education.

No, Jordan didn't have "Hang Time".
