wingnut396: Saiga410: I need to find out how to make Hot Ice.  My son would love that.

You don't need that 'hot' ice to do that.  You can freeze beer (or other carbonated drinks too) like that as well.  There is an narrow range where you can chill beer down to under freezing, but it remains liquid.  Give it a shock, like the hot ice, and the movement of the bubbles or something allows the water to then crystallize, forming ice.

Water will also do it.

Its to do with the availability of nucleation sites int he liquid and the ability to form crystals.

Fizzy substances generally do this because the pressure inside the bottle is kept high (and therefore the freezing temperature of the liquid is lower than the current temperature of the liquid), when you open them up, the pressure in the container drops, the freezing point of the liquid jumps up and meets the current temperature of the liquid which starts to freeze, in addition, the bubble create nucleation sites.

Came for pics of gravity-defying breasts. Is this the Geek tab or what?

madgordy: the only "things" that defy physics are Metaphysical.

gallium goes into an amalgam with aluminum, mercury also does that.  it's sort of like mixing salt into water.  oooh salt solid, water liquid, now both liquid!

if you DNRTA   there is not reason to as the author just does not understand.

Yeah, I went straight to the thread, b/c I figured it would be more entertaining than a list that Cracked doesn't understand.

Yeah, i know, nothing in here defies physics!  It just shows of uncommon properties that are different than what most people would expect!

And you have you guys been to magic shows? Total bullshiat.  No magic at all!

Metaphysics is a branch of knowledge concerned with how we create frameworks for our knowledge of the physical world. Laws of physics, for example, are metaphysical. Magical sky fairies, ghosts, and other nonsense are 'super-natural.' Or imaginary, if you're not an idiot (or get a kick out of stuff like Jumbo-Shrimp and other Handy'isms, like me).

Wow, some of you just must be a blast at parties.

Quantum Apostrophe must corner people individually throughout the evening, twisting whatever conversation might be going on into an anti-space screed. While Mike1969 is constantly biatching about semantics, and demanding higher quality repartee, lest people accidentally laugh at something stupid/silly.

H31N0US: Ice 9?

That's it. It's "The Hook" for you.

Quantum Apostrophe: But wouldn't you hate it too if people took astrology seriously and built their lives around it and demanded that the rest of the human race just follow along?

People do, they're called astrologers. No one is demanding that you dedicate your life to space exploration, we just wish you'd shut the fark up and leave it to people who can get over their obsessive fear of hair loss long enough to do the science.

omeganuepsilon: RedVentrue: Either you have no sense of humor, or you want others to have no sense of humor.

I can't figure out which.

My wager would be, "Both".

/what do I win?

You WIN THE GRAND PRIZE!

What ever that is today, you are one of life's winners! :)

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my parents who always supported me, my friends, family, and agents. I'd also like to thank Sally Field.

omeganuepsilon: Mikey1969: meat0918: Goddamn it, none of that stuff defies physics.

EXACTLY

Cool list, but none of it defies a farking thing.

Fark Cracked. Subby has to stand in a corner for taking Cracked's word for it that these were "physics defying". I guess this is what happens when everyone gets their science from farking Mythbusters.

FTA:

6 Mind-Blowing Substances That Laugh in the Face of Physics
We can laugh at our ancestors who thought gunpowder was sorcery, or rappers who don't understand what magnets are. But we're telling you right now, there are materials created by science that absolutely look like farking witchcraft. These materials are often hard to get and/or incredibly dangerous, but they're worth it for the cool factor alone.

fark subby for trying to make Cracked look worse than it is.
fark tarded fark readers with an obsessive grudge against Cracked too.

When we don't get Cracked articles we typically get Den of Fail or something even worse to fill in.
