Looking at the sequester exemptions Medicare part D appears to be exempt. On Med D you can qualify for Low Income Cost Sharing (LICS), those who qualify for that typically receive medicaid as well. You have to have a decent amount of money not to qualify for Medicaid (e.g. enough to cover bills, housing, food). My sister-in-law's father qualified and he has a nice house, good pension plus social security. Medicaid pays out big time for these drugs and if they are LICS eligible, they pay reduced or no co-pays. It sounds like the clinics are butthurt to be honest.

If Democrats had their way, it would be tax increases only, and no cuts.  Yet the Democrats have offered to make cuts to social programs.  If Republicans had their way, it would be all cuts to programs, and no tax increases.  The Republicans have refused to offer any other plan.

Oh, yeah - let's start by removing all the entitlements that our governmental representatives have. Take away their health care. Take away their retirement plans. Will we see how quickly things move thereafter?

There are no poor Congresscritters.  The least wealth of them is still rich.  They don't need their benefits, and if they lost them, likely wouldn't care much except for the fact that it would be an indicator of their having lost some of their power.
