Hai guys.  I'm really, REALLY new to investing and just recently joined the stock market, which, er, was kind of a spectactularly bad idea probably.   Anyhow, on a completely thoughtless lark, I grabbed one single solitary share of APPL at 450 and that single act has somehow tipped the iceberg and sent it immediately down in flames to, er, whatever it is now, I haven't checked.  Anyhow, sorry about that and I'll try and tell you guys in the future what else I randomly decide to buy so you can short it or something.

dumbobruni: YodaBlues: dumbobruni: does it bother anyone else that the budget for an office building is significantly greater than Apple's annual R&D budget of $3.4 billion? this is pure corporate stupidity.

Apple has $137 Billion Cash on-hand. They can afford it.

just because you can afford to overpay for something, doesn't mean you should.

Apple can afford to give me a billion, and they should,...so...you...are...wrong..

exvaxman: Years ago an investment advisor used the theory that if you are building a corporate complex meant to be more of a tribute to yourself, rather than being functional you were on your way down.

This was very much the case for several IT companies just before the crash.  They are on empty without Jobs around and know it.
