Why do we need new consoles again? Graphics are good enough. It'd be better to make consoles modular at this point; swap in new processors, gpu's, and different peripherals, etc etc. Upgrades are cheap and so is manufacturing cost, and the company gets to keep its cash flow as new and better games come out. I don't get why companies go in this all-in-one approach to console gaming. It's just not good long term if they can't get us good prices.

I doubt Valve is making an exclusive for anybody, particularly when the SteamBox is coming out.

That said, Episode 3 was already announced and is up for PRE-ORDER ON STEAM for a late October release. I doubt Half-Life 3 will have any sort of release date until after Episode 3 ships.

Partly because we've gotten to the point where your average cell phone has more processing power than the consoles. For a while, it was nice because your average low-mid level PC could at least play the games, but now it's just stupidly far behind.

/Still annoyed about New Vegas and Freeside in Fallout: New Vegas.

Not gonna care that much. This generation made me forget why I liked consoles in the first place: Japanese games. Whoever gets the most support from companies like Namco (for Tales games), Atlus, Level 5, and the like will get my money. But definitely not on launch.

I just gave my xBox 360 to my nephews because once I got an xBox controller for the PC, I realized I could just play the console games at the computer, so I stopped using the xBox. My eyesight is so bad that sitting closer to a smaller screen for a game is preferable to sitting far back from a large TV.

I did get them the Kinect before I gave it to them, and that looks like a good addition, but I'm farking 45 years old. It has limited appeal to me at this moment.
