OlderGuy: We like to have family here whether they post pics or not....

Thanks. Sometimes I feel like the annoying person that keeps blathering on even though everyone else is visibly bored but trying to be polite. :P

As for pics, I'll see if I can do video. Sassy seems to LOVE the tub, which is his favorite place for tail-chasing. It's weird; he hops in and immediately gets the Crazy Eyes, then bounces and flails around, making all kinds of thumps and thudding that I can hear across the house. Hooray for an acoustically-tuned bathroom? Let's see if the video came out okay...

Well, it's a bit rubbish, but I finally trimmed the video I took earlier. Sassy is pretty cute, though. How does a cat that big move like that? One of these days I'll also get video of him trilling/chirping. One would expect him to have a big "meow" or a yowl, but he has a little "prrt?" instead. It's a bit like seeing an NFL linebacker with Michael Jackson's voice. :D

Sassy in the tub, goes to a new window.

Gremie likes to play in the tub too.
Jack brought in a present from the yard one night and he took right to the tub.

Jack just walks in the house with these things, no parts hanging out of his mouth or anything like that,
He walks over to wherever Gremie is and drops it in front of him. Gremie picks it up and runs for the tub.

This. Totally nifty. I suppose that that's one thing I'll miss with Sonny being an indoor-cat, he won't be bringing me any dragonflies this summer. What a strange cat he is.

Finally coaxed him out from under the stairs and he's now resting in the bedroom with the wife.  He's still skittish about her coming towards him in her chair, but as long as she's stationary, he jumps right up when he wants some head butts and luvins.  Probably get choked out again with his tail tonight when I go to bed, but I'll deal with it.  Piggy is doing well roaming the house with the windows open and chasing birds, and Waffles is just fat, old, and grumpy.  Still no eggs from Rosemary, but she isn't eating anymore, so it should be any time now.  Also found out from the daughter (via her never erasing her browser history) that she was also looking at a 13 week old Bengal from up north as well.  Beautiful kitteh, but I'm not sure if we would have been prepared for a breed like that.  Maybe someday, but we have one behemoth cat, one in the making, fatty Waffles, and skinny Scampi, who eats the most out of everyone.  Took the my mom and her dog for a walk today around the neighborhood and talked some more about things.  I've hinted about something that happened a couple of years ago while I was still in the military, and finally told her a few things about it.  I think she cried more than I did, but now she understands why this problem is so prevalent some times, and why I have a cabinet full of pills that I take religiously.  I know what it's like to be off of them for a week, and it is an utter nightmare, and I am not going down that road again.  Time to get ready and call it a night, right after I make another round through the rooms and find all the toys and treasures that my little terrorist army has hidden.  See everyone tomorrow.

yobbery:
The wireless cut over last night could not have gone better. We shut down the old at 11:55pm and all devices were online with the new system by 12:05am. We quickly canvased the hospital checking coverage, then just sat around munching snacks while waiting for trouble calls that never came. I was home and in bed by 4:00am.

It has been an absolutely brutal 12 weeks. I'm having fun this morning reading all the empty congratulatory emails from the suits in the ivory tower. They set this timeline to cover their own asses (long story) knowing we has one single chance in hell of pulling it off. As of this morning they can all kiss my ass.

I never want to do this again.

Your bonus should be with your next paycheck.

I think that Nature is off of her meds again. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, we need the rain since we didn't get any this winter, but it's a bit disconcerting to have a day of sunshine, a day of rain, day of sun, day of rain, repeat. At least the type and amount of precipitation we're getting allows it to be absorbed by plants or become groundwater (instead of runoff or something). And hey, mid- to high-70s all week with sunshine. I love this state!

Buddy update:  Our baby boy seems to have recovered just fine from his little trip to the dentist last week.  He has almost forgiven me for forcibly squirting horrible shiat-tasting antibiotics down his throat as a precautionary measure twice a day for five days, and for my being a wound-up worrywart.  He's still not thrilled about crunchy treats, but will eat them if I break them into tiny pieces.  He's still not thrilled about his regular food either, but we noticed that he has no problem getting excited about people food.  The obvious smacked us upside the head.  Maybe he was just getting sick of the old food and perhaps would like to try something different?  So simple it just might work?  Spent an afternoon doing dog food research online, then off to the pet food store!

I dreaded experimenting with new food, but much to my surprise we found a couple things that he actually likes, almost right away!  And seem to agree with him so far!  He will eat all his meals without delay when combined with either "savory chicken stew" or "organic New Zealand lamb tripe" (only one of which I can dish up without gagging, guess which one, lol)!  Who knew?  Hopefully the novelty won't wear off anytime soon.  He seemed to feel quite good earlier today, he told off the neighbour's cat, and got goofy & playful after supper, both of which he hasn't done in a while.  Our sweet little old fart has some life left in him yet!  Thanks again for all the good wishes last Caturday, I think they really helped.  He still seems a little tired and slow, but he is looking happier now, and that's a very good start.  :)

Sending hugs and love and healing wishes to all the other kitties and humans needing them this Caturday... seems like quite a few this week... huge long thread and I can't remember all the names... but you know who you are... this hug's for you.

spinach gunk glad to hear that Buddy is feeling more like his old self.

predle ugh, isn't it time for the snow to go away?? I know I am tired of it here. Today we are supposed to get up to 63, and tomorrow 65, but thunderstorms in the afternoon. I volunteered to go on a field trip tomorrow morning. I hope it holds off raining until we get back to school! (And yes, I am nuts to go on a trip with the 8th graders).

No sub job today, so I'm running around getting things done that I didn't finish this weekend. Like take down the Easter stuff!

The weather icon on my homepage shows 92 and cloudy tomorrow. I hate being cold but I will have to invest in an air conditioner at some point this summer.
And I got pictures of my new kitty!
Meet Max:
farm9.staticflickr.com
He was my son and daughter in laws cat. My son convinced her to adopt a kitty so they found one that a family could no longer keep. He came from a house that had more than one kitty and he is declawed. they think he is about 15.
The kids thought he was just old and sweet as he would lay around and be a cuddle bug. When I moved in with my kitties he changed. He began to jump and run and play with them. He would get high with Li-Ion and he taught Tom to sit with people and cuddle. When I moved out to the farm with my kitties he walked around crying and looking for his friends.
My daughter in law cried when she saw how sad he was, and after a week. they came out to visit and brought Max with them. He seems happy enough now but is wary of Fiona. Tom and Li-Ion are cool with the dog so I am sure Max will be too. Although Fiona keeps trying to sniff the new kitty and it keeps moving. she is not really chasing him but I toss her outside when it happens. She will learn to ignore the new kitty just to stay in the house.

Ack. Hubby is now mostly healthy, barring some dental things he just found out. Now Mia is sick and we're waiting for the results of testing. She's on some anti-nausea and anti-runs meds, that we can crush and sprinkle over her food. Waiting to see if Felix also gets sick, and hoping the answer is 'no.'

Trying to wrap up filing my federal taxes. Gods, what a pain.Wading through all the legalese on the various forms trying to figure out terms that are clear to the IRS but totally not clear to me... *sigh*

On the other hand, it's a beautiful day outside and I'm thinking I should go enjoy it. Maybe wait to do the taxes until my headache is gone...

I let him keep the three that he helped hatch, he turned those eggs more than I did.
I had help him find one of his chickens, it had escaped under his fence and walked down the ally to a neighbors yard and gotten through their fence. Lucky they did not have a dog. He had to go around and ask to get in their yard to catch Speed Racer. It is a roo so I am not sure how long he is going to be able to keep it in town. He needs to get busy and build a proper chicken pen but he fell off of Castle and injured his shoulder so now he can't use his right arm for four weeks. I may have to get over there and build it for him before all his birds get out.
