Type at ft of pg 5. Now remembering to say Fang Q to Salem Witch for Suzy pix, esp the laser-eyes ones.
BBBB, sounds as if Shiatake is making himself welcome & purrfectly at home.  That expression in foto #1 of him is just classic!

Speaking of Coonies, this is Yakko, less hefty of Furrnandina's sons with the tail that won't quit, in a favourite perching place in the living room.
Din-din time soon for all; best tend to that, or at least plan & defrost for us hoo-mons.

Brian Blessed's Bastard Boy: It's been less than a week since I lost my Sake', and it still hurts, but I'm not overcome by it now.  But seeing as how this is the B4 home for animal hoarders, you can pretty much guess what happened.  But surprisingly, there was a twist.  My mother, the one who hates the ferrets, and is terrified of the lizards, and doesn't really like the cats, decided to work with my daughter and on Wednesday night, brought home Mo.  He is about 3 years old, and is definitely part, if not all, Maine Coon, which is what the wife always wanted anyway.  I know she wasn't a part of it, because she's a horrible actress, and she was shocked by it.  I'm guessing he's supposed to be mine, but he's spending more time with the wife than me.  She's smiling that she finally got a Maine Coon, so I'm going to be happy for her in this.  He's been very skittish since he's been here, so the pictures are limited right now.  I'm hoping that here soon he'll be more comfortable with us, but I know it takes time.  So say a big Caturday welcome to shiatake, the newest member of the B4 family.  And yes, I named him with another Japanese themed food in honor of my beautiful boy.

Congratulations sweetie!  Shiatake is beautiful!  I bet he starts to make himself at home with your energetic family.

Debby7813: It is with a heavy heart that I tell you, my Caturday friends, of my Dinah's passing into the Summerlands. Her 18 years in this world ended early Wednesday morning, as she was eased out of her old, tired, sick body into the next world. My daughter (a vet tech), our favorite kitty doc, another vet tech friend, and I were there to send her on her journey. Fare thee well, my old friend.

A retrospective:

What a lovely girl! Thanks for sharing your memories with us and for giving her such a cozy life. You did the right thing, but it stlll hurts, I know. Sending you hugs and good wishes.

Snuffybud: I had more than just those two, those are the only ones with decent photos. Cisco was very helpful too! He came to check and see if I was still alive after an afternoon of whacking boards together!

Funny you mention that. I put one of those floors in our spare room. I can't remember the manufacturer but it wasn't Pergo. The floor looks great (as does yours) and is impervious to just about everything as advertised, but "simply snap together" my ass! I spent a day and a half beating the living shiat out of those planks.

It went easier after I went back and bought the optional 'HaHa, Knew You'd Be Back..' custom pounding block with S shaped beater bar...but I was almost done by then.

GGracie, also  pleased to see you back & posting like a maniac Because You Can.
Tziva, Omer looks like a candidate for best damn cat ever.  Of course, that title (BDCE) has as many possible holders as cats deeply cared for by the hoo-mons who love & care for them.

He was named after the mascot from Odyssey of the Mind, some program I participated in as a kid.

I do think it's an accepted variant of the name Omar, although I'm not sure which language/culture.

Slightly less masculine Omer:

Old feral cat my aunt saved from starvation (due to his deformities he could barely eat but had somehow hung on for a year -- when she found him, he was bald on his head from malnutrition and could barely stand -- vet said he was probably a couple days from death).  We took him in and got him surgeries and he was the most awesome, loving (and obviously very compliant since he used to let me dress him up) cat ever.

He had no front teeth, just fangs, so his tongue used to get stuck between them after he was done cleaning himself, and he'd walk around with his tongue hanging out.

Also, he was hooked on the 'nip:
