Debby7813: It is with a heavy heart that I tell you, my Caturday friends, of my Dinah's passing into the Summerlands. Her 18 years in this world ended early Wednesday morning, as she was eased out of her old, tired, sick body into the next world. My daughter (a vet tech), our favorite kitty doc, another vet tech friend, and I were there to send her on her journey. Fare thee well, my old friend.

A retrospective:

And things like this are why my stressors don't matter. It's just a house - I still have my health, my job and my Cracker Jack. Thanks, Debby7813, for reminding me about what is truly important.

RIP, Dinah.

I've seen this movie enough, so I should know...isn't this where Jack says "Little pigs? Little pigs?"

Yep I believe that's the right part. Did you ever read the book? The movie was great but IMHO the book was much better.

As I said elsewhere, I am so sorry for your loss, but glad that your face and your heart were there at her ending. What a wonderful thing. It takes great courage to put their needs before ours. Fare thee well Dinah. Enjoy the fields until once again you encounter your owners soul.

I found them both very quickly, but I play hidden object games a lot. I'd call it an unfair advantage for me, but I think it's just a sign of goofiness/having never grown up, because I caught myself trying to *click* the animals after I found them.

Yes, I read the book before I saw the movie (2x in theaters summer of '80) After the first viewing we came home to a bat in our apartment! As a rule I try not to compare movies with the novel. To me it's like saying bacon is better than pork chops, or stout is better than bourbon. Or the old standby...apples and oranges. Having said all that, the movie was FAR better than the mini-series that King supposedly liked better. Go figure.

I found a tweak guide years ago that showed how to get rid of the balloon popups using the registry.
This removes them: Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\A dvanced subkey and set the EnableBalloonTips hexadecimal value to 0. Set it back to 1 to enable them.

My MIL (no, that is NOT a typo) has informed us that her 3 y/o Maine Coon Cat Jasper has exacerbated her allergies to the point that Jasper needs to find a new home. Namely, HERE at Buck Manor! He is a bee-YOOT-i-ful cat and I can't wait to introduce him to you, but it probably won't be until next weekend. Only problem is he's been an outdoor cat all his life and that's just not gonna work in this neighborhood, so there will be a major lifestyle adjustment on his part.

If female, it might be carrying the young in it,s pouch.. when they are born, they are tiny.. and stay in the pouch until they can get around on their own ..mammaries are in the pouch.. had a possum show up in my garage where I used to live.. stood there by my feet looking at me, belly dragging the ground.. figured that she might be looking for a safe place to have her brood.. didn't know about the pouch routine.. found a cardboard box, put some straw and grass clippings in it and put it down in front of her: she climbed in and lay down.. put the box in a corner.. two days later there were 11 babies in there with her.. mini- possums.. with teeth and all.. she stayed there for about three weeks, then moved on... she had the trust.. I would sit down by the box and the babies would crawl out of the box and all over me.. I could pick them up.. mama was totally cool with it...knew she was safe.. if you have a location away from the house where you could give her some privacy and Eli wouldn't go, she'd probably take you up on it....

Oh my, you lucky person! I had a Maine Coon, a breeder told me she was a "foundation" female. He was bummed because she was spayed...one of these days I gotta scan her pics...anyway, I am sure you can convince kitteh to stay in. Either that or train her to harness. They are truely intelligent kittehs...

Otay, I has a picture question.  How do you get the side-by-side comparison type pics?  I tried to create one earlier today and failed miserably :(  I don't have PS... I tried with a free photo thingummy online... It had all sorts of stuffs to animate pics and everything else peoples around here do, just couldn't figure out the side-by-side type thing.  I want the ability for around here, but I need it for our business pics, too.  Thoughts?
