Good.

2013-04-04 01:50:19 PM
"The Commission shall identify best practices and otherwise make recommendations to promote the efficient administration of elections in order to ensure that all eligible voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots without undue delay, and to improve the experience of voters facing other obstacles in casting their ballots, such as members of the military, overseas voters, voters with disabilities, and voters with limited English proficiency."

How dare the President create an advisory board that tries to make it easier for people to vote

2013-04-04 01:52:46 PM
Really, Butthurtmitter? Establishing a non-salaried advisory commission within the authority of the Federal Advisory Committee Act is somehow scary, a violation of the constitution, and a violation of seperation of powers? I guess his trip to Florida to play golf with Tiger constituted high crimes and misdemeanors. We'll find a way to impeach this uppity blah person somehow.

2013-04-04 01:59:22 PM
Oh NO!  A Commission!  Next you know they'll be issuing non-BINDING RECOMMENDATIONS!!!!!!111!!

2013-04-04 02:20:26 PM
He wants all eligible Americans to be able to vote. Truly history's greatest monster.

That's just what I'd expect from a Kenyan.

"

The President can create advisory committees, substandardmitter.

Infernalist: Good.

Came to say this.

The GOP will say "Obama is circumventing Congress to make sure more people vote for the Democratic Party"

2013-04-04 05:22:58 PM
It would have been nice, since they will be there anyway, to find a way to keep people who shouldn't be voting from voting.

But that would be efficient and we all know the government doesn't do efficient.

Without reading the article, let me guess-- he's doing something entirely harmless, legal, and beneficial to society as a whole and the usual retarded suspects are losing their shiat because they hate him.

Angry Drunk Bureaucrat: Oh NO!  A Commission!  Next you know they'll be issuing non-BINDING RECOMMENDATIONS!!!!!!111!!

It'll be in a red binder.  'Cause we all know who else loved the color red.

So much the better and easier to perpetrate fraud. I can hear Taps playing softly in the background for the greatness that was once America.

Sec. 3. Mission. (a) The Commission shall identify best practices and otherwise make recommendations to promote the efficient administration of elections in order to ensure that all eligible voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots without undue delay

THE HORROR

2013-04-04 05:26:14 PM
I'd like to see more than a commission, but it's a start. Our voting process is totally f*cked.

2013-04-04 05:26:38 PM
I didn't see anything nefarious in there.  Did he bomb cambodia? Did he start a war with a country for no farking reason? Did he nuke someone? If not then stfu

It's as if you somehow think that's a common occurrence.

Interesting that you equate it to all of the last few years' voter suppression efforts.

I agree. There is no right to vote in what I understand the constitution to be! This is just another one of his socialist tricks!

Could they start with Precinct 13 in Texas. If that had been an honest precinct, no JFK assassination, no Vietnam escalation, no miles of pollen-ridden wildflowers along Texas highways.

iv) the efficient management of voter rolls and poll books;
viii) management of issuing and processing provisional ballots in the polling place on Election Day;
(ix) the issues presented by the administration of absentee ballot programs;

Seems like these provisions might help.

2013-04-04 05:31:12 PM
As fine as an idea as this is, it's really just going to be ignored in any state with a heavy GOP presence, no?

2013-04-04 05:31:15 PM
Maybe they will figure out that we need some sort of intellectual standard for voting.  It's quite an important act, people of the Kardashian's caliber maybe should be excluded.

Right on cue, the obligatory naysayers show up to find something, anything wrong with this. So tell me, you two, what would be your response if Obama were to say that clean air and water is good for you? How about if he were to say that violent crime is bad and should be reduced?

Is there literally anything he could say that you wouldn't find some way to piss on?

(And no, snarky comments like "his resignation" don't count. Nice try. We all know you were going to go there otherwise.)

2013-04-04 05:32:21 PM
most people are idiots and/or grossly uninformed and should not be allowed to vote.

do you really want the guy or gal serving burgers at the braves game voting?  do you really want honey booboo's sperm donor or mom voting? the answer is no.

they get arrested, you know if you commit a crime and get caught, you get arrested.

but you can't proactively take away a right without due process.

2013-04-04 05:32:41 PM
Okay that's a start, but next you can get rid of the electoral college and fire anyone in congress who's voted on a bill without understanding it.

Then we can worry about switching to a form of democracy where people are represented instead of places.

Oops. Left off the pic.

That's a ballot box that kept being recounted until LBJ won his seat.  I think that's LBJ on the right. He kept this photo in the White House.

Step 1: Person submits link to story about president forming a commission. Adds obvious troll headline. So obvious only a fool would take it seriously, In fact, it probably came from an Obama supporter mocking the right's predictable outrage.

Step 2: Fools take it seriously. Attack submitter.

Umm, uhh stand down everybody. Just a little joke. heh. Really nothing to worry about. Go about your business.

"All eligible voters" would necessarily exclude people who are ineligible, or "shouldn't be voting".

This is merely the first of many. I have a source within the Lizard People community that says he'll order all firearms to be confiscated and melted down. The surplus metal will be needed for the gay marriage, abortion apocalypse.

I can't believe that only a few years ago people like Sue B. Mitter deified Bush to the point that any questioning of his divine right to be the decider was giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Also, "enemy" was defined as the entire planet.
