I would say it's the fox watching the henhouse, except that the snakes got to the henhouse first.

A whole $700? You can barely make it rain in the club with that much

Go to a lower class of club and you'll be a king with that kind of spread.

If $700 was all they wasted, I'd be pretty happy with that.  It's Louisiana after all.

It's when you multiply that by 1,000,000 that things get a bit more contentious.

Only seven hundred dollars?  Man, subby is a whiner.  I've spent more on alcohol in a month then that.

For you FARKers heading into town this weekend, that lower class of club would be "Big Daddy's" on Bourbon Street.  Don't say I did not warn you.

I haven't been there, but I'd be surprised (and horrified) if it were worse than Love Acts. That place did cap off a hell of a story, though.

And for the love of god, Farkers, please don't spend all your time on Bourbon St. Go see it once just to say you've done it, have some novelty drinks, and then experience the rest of what is a very unique city. Go hang out with some locals, none of whom will be on Bourbon unless they're bartenders or strippers.

And as I always say, don't complain how Bourbon and parts of the upper Quarter smell. It's not the locals making that mess. Head uptown and you'll see we're as clean as any other city. Better bars, too.

Enjoy the French Quarter, but try to get around a bit. You wouldn't visit San Francisco and spend the whole time at Fisherman's Wharf, would you?

I'm not talking about restaurant/club mark up.  I'm talking solely home consumption.

I wound up there one night with my girlfriend when we got locked out of our hotel. We needed to kill time until the maid showed up. Love Acts was one of the few places open past 4 a.m., and we had been joking about how awful it looked all night. We were right. The first performer looked like she was my mother's age. The second looked like a recovering heroin addict, and the third looked like she was my grandmother's age.

On the upside, the staff at what turned out to be a gay diner was very nice to us and let us stash our luggage under a shelf while we killed four hours on Bourbon Street. And the hotel apologized by offering us a free weekend at some point in the future.

I still can't get over the guy who was sitting at the stage, though. He faintly resembled Ryan Gosling and clearly had money. He could have been anywhere else, but kept laying down those dollar bills.

I'm just shocked that anyone remembers Rita since Katrina stole the headlines. /ex-Miambian//spent at least $700 on rum, weed and propane after Rita tore the house down.

I just found out yesterday that that's approximately the cost of a single bottle of whisky (McCallan 25) that a far better friend than I realized I had split with me one glorious night

I did a bachelors party in Charleston, SC back in the mid-1990's and we ended up at this place in North Charleston called "Joe's Roundup," and as God as my witness, one of the dancers had to be seven months pregnant.  It was like something out of a David Lynch movie.

Any "foreign" government that puts Louisiana in charge of $700,000,000 deserves to lose every cent of it.
