They still make shiatty burgers, though...

Well that's a waste.

About as useful as tits on a pig.  They can dress up the surroundings as much as possible, but the food is still terrible and will give you the squirts.

When did McDonald's start flame-grilling their burgers?  I only thought Burger King did that (snicker).

Except that the article itself sucked. Like 3 pics from the exterior at street level and an overhead shot. No interiors at all, and 2 sentences of history on the place. It's like a Daily Mail article, but without the pictures. What I saw of the McDonald's looked pretty cool. though.

I ate inside a Taco Bell a few months ago.  I haven't actually been in one for 10+ years.  I use the drive thru.

I would refer to it as "dystopian".  There was broken furniture, trash strewn about, and no decoration of any kind except for two TVs that blasted a sort of Entertainment Tonight broadcast, but about products like The New Extreme Mt. Dew flavors.

Very cool.  They can afford the cool architecture because many people want to eat there.  Rather than bagging on McD's, why not appreciate the building?  If they leave, the next tenant will have a nice building, too.

What part of Georgia's that from? Obviously not South Central.

Are you suggesting I appreciate the design aesthetics beyond the mere fact that it's a McDonald's rather than show how edgy I am by bashing McDonald's?  I think not, sir.

You really need to travel to truly appreciate a McDonald's.  After being in Tokyo and Moscow for three weeks each -- there is nothing quite as glorious as ordering from a familiar menu and biting into a McD's hamburger.

I usually saved my McDonald's food for the middle/end of the trip, after the tongue and mouth tire of unfamiliar food...

They've been renovated some of the ones in Manhattan to look like chic lounges.

It's very, very weird.

Now THOSE are some pictures... Wow. They really need a small creek or waterfall in there, just a small one for some ambience. Thanks for the link!

The McDonald's at Biltmore Estates is pretty nice, too.

So what are the prices like when you go to a really nice McDonald's like that? Is a Big Mac gonna cost $11 or something? Or do they price the food the same as their regular establishments, and take a hit on the overhead? 'Cause I ain't paying $11 or $12 for a burger I can get a mile away for $3.

Didn't we decide that the writing on the poster in the famous 'fat kid' McDonald's was Georgian for 'Big Maku'?  He must be doing very well for them!
