"...he dawdled through back streets, took a sharp turn and crawled through two sets of red traffic lights."

So what did he do that was out of the norm for English drivers?

What on earth was this guy listening to? I was really hoping they'd mention it in the article so I could save some money on drink and drugs this week.

I love seeing a car worth about $800 with a $2500 sound system installed.

When it hits the resonant frequency of the enclosure the car nearly shakes itself to pieces.

But these guys are *so* cool.....

Metal, he was listening to metal. Because only metal has the power to warp a man's mind and bend it to its will. The glorious battle hymn of drum and bass can set your soul afire and let loose the wonders of your mind.

One of the guys at work has something like that, but if he turns up the music while driving the power to the wheels drops in time to the beat so you drive along bouncing forward and backwards in your seat.

It's a British stereotype - it's a yobbo driving a rusty white van.  We get them in the States, too.

It is the van that is white (the person might also be, not sure).

We've got one guy in a tan pickup truck that passes by every so often.  The bass goes all the way to the back of the property (indoors) and makes everything shake.

They can always afford to drop a couple grand on the audio, but they never think to pay the $.05 for the rubber grommets that keep the license plate from buzzing like a kazoo.

I guess that's the same as the white pick-up truck driver we have over here that always drive like shiat. The wife wondered why white pick-ups were always the worst drivers and I said it's probably because they are work trucks and don't care.

I love listening to bass-heavy electronic music in my car, and can listen to it as loud as I want without having to aggravate my wife. Your suspicion that I do it in some passive effort to gain your approval is entirely misguided.

Is it stressful to be the center of the universe?

It was defined in The Island Pts. 1 and 2. Two different albums trying to break apart into their own. Rob Swire's urge to get his Xygen on came out quite a bit. The In Flames cameo was pretty bog average (If he wanted swedish metal he should have gone for Hammerfall) but Vulture, Set me on Fire and Island pt. 2 were all pretty damn good. I'm assuming Pendulum will likely not put another album together, but Knife Party was pretty good to come out of it. Not a bad album overall, but In Silico was better.
