Sybarite: Pish, I'm an adult. I don't need an excuse.
KJUW89: Had my tonsils out a few years ago - that was not comfortable at all. Stopped my snoring, though, which made my husband happy.pro-tip: do NOT get behind on the pain medication. wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy./well maybe my worst enemy, but that's it.
Teknowaffle: I used to get it all the time as a teenager. The worst part was that I would get tonsil stones all the time. I still remember wondering what the hard thing that came out of my throat was and biting into it.Took a while to get the taste out of my mouth,
cyberspacedout: Here's the actual article published in the CMAJ: http://www.cmaj.ca/content/early/2013/04/02/cmaj.121852If you look at the full text, you might notice on the first page it refers to "...recurrent episodes of pharyngitis when the cause is unknown." Is it just me, or does this whole study seem like an excuse to avoid finding a proper method of diagnosis and treatment?
lewismarktwo: That's pretty much every surgery.
hophead929: I used to get strep just about every year. Then had my tonsils removed as part of sleep apnea surgery (Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty or UPPP) 14 years ago. Haven't had strep since.
