Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: I want a jelly donut filled with Big Mac sauce

For some reason, the first time I read that I walked away with "I want a donut filled with mac and cheese."

Which, let's be honest, sounds like it has potential.

A place near me used to sell cheeseburger donuts. Honey glaze without a hole for the bun, bavarian cream filling to look like cheese, red jelly to resemble ketchup, and a chocolate glazed donut to look like a beef patty. I split one with someone once, not wanting the self-esteem hit that comes with eating one solo-- it tasted pretty good.

Isn't this announcement a few day's late?

Lot of people here with zero reading comprehension. This is not sweet plus savory in the sense of "properly thought-out recipe", this is sweet plus savory in the sense of "we took a recipe for a sweet thing, then we put a savory thing in the middle of it just because."

It is horrific, in just the same way that putting waffles and syrup on the same plate as your bacon, eggs and hashbrown is horrific. Because it isn't integrated, and it isn't a recipe, it is two completely separate recipes shoved in the same place for no good reason.

I think if I was at a Dunkin Donuts I'd try one, mostly to get the taste of their coffee out of my mouth.

WTF? Getting syrup on your eggs and bacon is one of the good things in life. Fie, I say. Fie.
