For $8 I can get a plate of "eggs normandie" at La Madeleine, which is two poached eggs on ham on a split croissant with hollandaise sauce and cherry tomatoes. Made to order, on site. Compare that to $6 for two egg McMuffins or Dunkin egg things? $2 and a little time and I get a superior product.

It's the problem with people letting their lives be rushed. You trade so much for so little.

It's merely a matter of not working a normal job. I could do this at home for about $3 but it's not worth doing for enough hollandaise sauce for one person.

Aside from common things like PB & Jelly or PB & chocolate and salted caramel, there's Chinese honey-chicken or sweet-and-sour dishes, the sweet dipping sauces in Vietnamese food, maple-cured bacon, honey glazed ham, and any number of other pork products paired with sweet/fruit.  Also, pretty much the entirety of Moroccan cooking philosophy disagrees with you.  B'Stilla, honeyed lamb, meat stewed with apricots and cinnamon... -- it's farking amazing.
