Dinki: The 26-year-old daredevil is appealing for sponsorship so he can turn his thrill-seeking past-time into a proper career

I'm betting not to many companies want to be associated with someone that is going to end up a pile of blood and jagged broken bones some day.

timujin: Nadie_AZ: Gonna be honest, I am fine with heights, but not with taking a risk such as hanging by 3 fingers many stories up.

The ones where he has his arm over the ledge or a bar of some kind to hang onto are doable, but the one where it's just one hand with only his fingers over the ledge?  No way.

Not a rock climber.

My youngest son said YOLO the other day. I told him he was way off since you live everyday of your life. The proper saying is YODO..you only die once. I like to think he understands what I was saying.

He subscribes to the Cartoon Law of Gravity.  Just don't look down.

AdolfOliverPanties: He'll be fine.  If there is one thing a person can count on, it's the structural integrity of railings and brick ledges in the old Soviet Union.

Or trailside sitting spots along hills I've also hiked up.

But anyway, the "fear doesn't exist" is cute and all, but it doesn't keep you alive. Gravity and physics are a biatch dude when telling the unwashed masses you're not scared.

Fear may not exist, but I'm pretty sure gravity's real and one day it's going to get you, afraid or not.

Ok, you tried logic this time.  Next time it's a paint stirrer on bare ass.

What the FARK?!? I would have crapped my pants if I were him, I nearly did just looking at the pics.

The reason the perspective looks off is "ultra wide angle."

And the thing is, if this guy really doesn't feel fear doing these stunts, then it's not really much of an accomplishment. Overcoming fear is an achievement, not simply doing something dangerous. I'd have more respect for someone who was terrified of public speaking getting up and giving a speech to a large audience than this guy.

FriarReb98: Is it just me, or does the perspective in this picture look incredibly wrong?
[i.dailymail.co.uk image 850x563]

Nope. It's real, and horrifyingly so. Although the Daily Fail's characterization of it as "one of the Ukraine's tallest buildings" is balderdash, as usual. They really do suck hard at journalism.

It's the Kudrinskaya Square Building, and it's a 59-year old, 22-storey (160 meter / 525 foot) structure.

It's actually the 38th-tallest building in Moscow, although if the Daily Fail could relocate it to Ukraine, it would be their second-tallest building. In New York, it wouldn't even make the top 250 tallest buildings.

Which takes nothing away from the dubious achievement of the photographer and climber. Would you catch me trusting my life to one single arm of a 59-year old metal-and-stained-glass star that probably wasn't even intended to be load-bearing the day it was built? Oh hell FARK no.

Here it is for your viewing pleasure on Google Street View.

I hate heights. Fark this article and fark this thread. My hands are sweaty now and my feet are aching.

honestly i think it would be really cool to do that.  if i was in better physical shape i might try it.  if i had a picture of myself dangling from a skyscraper, i could show it off and probably get laid whenever i wanted.  chicks love that stuff.

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish.  Conservatives would still have a higher death rate.

Because they're old. :)

I've seen videos of free climbers that made me cringe, not for me, but for them.

I wouldn't trust three fingers or the integrity of a weather-worn anything. When all that separates you from death is that one rock breaking off when you put your weight on it, just no.

Then again, I'm not the kind of person that would even think about trying that sort of thing. And yes, I am guessing the life span of habitual free climbers isn't really that long.

There sure is alot of bad talking done on this guy. I wonder why it bothers people so much. If thats what he wants to do, its certainly his choice to do it.

Personally I commend him for being able to conquer the part of your brain that says "NOPE"

I've done some free solo and 60' or 600' and you're just as dead.  I just had much better things to grab a hold of, a lot of nice, juggy outcrops.

Fark, I'm getting vertigo just looking at these pictures.

I fell off a ladder once, 15 ft, onto blacktop and shattered my L4.  Ever since, heights frighten me, for good reason, I was injured from the fall.

These pictures made me almost sick to my stomach in fear.

However, I do see Darwin looking this guy up in his dictionary of "who's who".
