Currently on The Drudge Report are as many articles written by Drudge as there are articles on Fark written by Drew Curtis.

That was my thought but I have not been to the Drudge Report in years. All he does is link to articles that outrage him.

Pfeiffer added that when he is asked about something on the Drudge Report he usually ridicules the reporter asking the question until they sheepishly back down.

This deserves the Hero Tag.

It's all about the misleading headlines and knowing the mouthbreathers lack basic reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.

Yup, right down to not actually reading the articles.

You should visit for the laughs. Try to guess the reaction they want from readers from each headline.

1) Pure outrage. 2) "OMG he's at it again." 3) "Can you believe these people?" 4) Paralyzing fear. 5) "I knew it!" 6) "Finally, someone fighting the good fight."

I predict about 75% of the people who will come to this thread to mock Drudge are the same people who visit Drudge, snag a link, and put it in the Fark queue.

You'd think Fark would be more popular, up to the level of systemic risk. And it's a beautiful website compared to Drudge, which has all the visual appeal of a lunch menu schedule in a senior center.

O.K. Just checked it out, 1st I would think he would have redesigned his site in the last 10 years, secondly apparently he has a massive boner over war with North Korea, but he is protecting it with an anti-drone hoodie.  I feel dirty.

Weird.

I visited Drudge earlier today, before this thread, for the first time in like five years out of boredom. Wait. That's not quite true. I was hoping the light would be spinning.

/The site hasn't changed one bit. If I hadn't rebuilt my computer late last year, I could have sworn the browser was loading a cached version of Drudge.

Drudge is ranked 15th, perhaps Barry and the boys don't like the light to be shining in a different direction .

Why would he want to do that?  The Free Republic folks would deride him as a liberal.

From what I gather he's some sort of hat connoisseur. He is clearly pro- porkpie, fedora, and panama, but rabidly anti-beret.

He REALLY doesn't like these guys:

I think this is what makes it different than other news aggregator sites, he just piles on with only sources that reflect what he wants. Fark is more bipartisan than Drudge. Yahoo usually carries other people's news, and they carry all of the news. Drudge's difference is that he postras shiat ONLY from sites that fit his worldview, the scarier, the better.

Exactly.  The purpose of Drudge is to piss off "derpers" with misleading headlines that create "sound bytes" to use against the "libs", but links to an accurate article in order to give them a cover of legitimacy.

What's funny about being annoyed the right wing has pretty effectively destroyed American journalism?
