Yeah but I hear she's got swamp ass making it like the farking bayou down there.

That was actually a (slightly changed) quote from Jessica herself.  It was the first moment I actually started liking her.  Or when she told Kimmel on being pregnant "I never knew a wiener could actually make me nauseous."  I love that sort of personality, the brutally honest/crude whatever.  Basically this is just a long winded way of informing you yeah, I'd dive in that swamp.

SkinnyHead: She asked if marriage is declared a fundamental right, could the state ban incestuous marriages between a mother and child who has reached the age of consent.  Where's the outrage?

She wasn't comparing homosexuals to incest. She was discussing the legal result of the term "consenting adults" on incest.

cchris_39: If you're against gay marriage you're a homophobe. If you want the immigration laws enforced you're a xenophobe. If you don't favor abortion you hate women. If you think they should pay for their own birth control pills you're a cheap bastard that hates women. And if you disagree with Obama then you're a racist.

also, when 100% of the vote from individual precincts in philadelphia go to democrats, they are on the plantation.  You are not allowed to wander off the plantation.

You want to talk about a lack of diversity of thought or opinion allowed?  This is the plantation Carson is talking about:

It's one thing for a Democratic presidential candidate to dominate a Democratic city like Philadelphia, but check out this head-spinning figure: In 59 voting divisions in the city, Mitt Romney received not one vote. Zero. Zilch.

These are the kind of numbers that send Republicans into paroxysms of voter-fraud angst, but such results may not be so startling after all.

"We have always had these dense urban corridors that are extremely Democratic," said Jonathan Rodden, a political science professor at Stanford University. "It's kind of an urban fact, and you are looking at the extreme end of it in Philadelphia."

OK. How is that different than this plantation:

I don't care if you're against gay marriage, just let people make their own decisions about who to marry and you make your own decision for yourself and nobody else.

I don't care if you don't favor abortion, just let people make their own decisions about whether to get an abortion and you make your own decisions for yourself and nobody else.

I don't care if you think insurance should pay for birth control, just let people make their own decisions about whether to buy insurance that covers birth control and you make your own decisions for yourself and nobody else.

I don't care if you disagree with Obama, just let people make their own decisions about whether they agree with Obama and you make your own decision for yourself and nobody else.

That's freedom and liberty for everyone. See how that works?

Well said. My advice to Silly Jesus is much simpler: If you spend all your time on Fark pretending to be an asshole just to annoy people, then you're not really pretending, you actually are just an asshole

Neither was Dr. Carson.  Both were making the point that if you accept the view that there is a fundamental right to compel redefinition of marriage to include one group, other groups may be able to claim the same right to redefine marriage to include them.

You want to talk about a lack of diversity of thought or opinion allowed?  This is the plantation Carson is talking about:

They are voting units called 'divisions' that have pretty small numbers of voters. The Philadelphia Inquirer did a story where they went to those areas trying to find anyone who even claimed to be a Republican and didn't find a single one. The total votes from those 59 divisions (not precincts) accounted for just a little more than 3% of the total vote in the city. Philadelphia as a whole voted for Obama something like 80-20 and African Americans voted for him over 90% of the time. It is perfectly logical to expect African Americans in urban Philadelphia to vote nearly unanimously for Obama. What's more, African Americans have essentially been forced to vote for white candidates for the history of the country (since they've been allowed to vote, that is) because no African American candidate was ever on the ballot.

I wonder how many white conservatives are even able to conceive of what it might be like if they were a white person in a country whose democratically elected government has been dominated by black people for their entire lives and indeed never even had a white candidate for president ever in the history of the country and then, all of a sudden, comes a white person who gains the nomination for the party you have traditionally supported. It might feel like quite an exciting thing to be able to vote for that person for the first time in the history of ever.

Now, you might say that is a pretty stupid reason to vote for president. Your vote should be based on positions on the issues facing the country. That is certainly a logical way to express the role a voter plays in our form of government, but when white people in this country have had the luxury of considering competing white people for president for the entire existence of the country, it is quite easy to focus on the issues. Given the historical nature of having the first African American candidate running for president, and indeed, winning, I'm inclined to look past whatever motivation African Americans may have had for voting for Obama in overwhelming numbers. Maybe once they have had the chance to vote for African American candidates with the kind of frequency white folks have had to vote for white candidates, it won't matter anymore. But you know what, it does matter and it should matter and African Americans voting for Obama en masse is hardly a reflection of white liberals trying to keep them on the plantation, it is a reflection of the fact that we, as a country, despite advances in civil/equal rights had still not, prior to 2008, even nominated a single African American to be on a presidential ticket of a major party in any capacity. Perhaps you should be thinking more about why that was the case rather than why African Americans in urban Philadelphia voted for Obama so overwhelmingly.

For all the harumphing about the "liberal race card" I've never heard anyone on the right admit that claims of racism may stem from their attitudes and policies towards minorities. They complain that they can't criticize the president on anything without being called a racist, overlooking issues like Obama's birth certificate that were genuinely rooted in race.  So they parade around the few minorities who agree with the GOP platform and immediately when guys like Carson and Herman Cain get called out for saying something massively stupid, they reflexively shout "SEE? A BLACK PERSON WAS CRITICIZED! THAT PROVES LIBS ARE THE REAL RACISTS!"

Of course they don't honestly mean that. They just want revenge against their political rivals. They feel that the left's claims of racism are wholly without merit, so to retaliate they manufacture their own meritless racist accusations to "make it fair." They don't actually believe the people criticizing Carson are doing anything racist. They're just doing it to frustrate the other guys.

cchris_39: Looks like the good doctor just gave the left a taste of their own debate tactics.

See? Revenge > Honest debate. Sticking it to the libs is what's most important.

I'd say there's a big difference between a white guy slamming Ben Carson for comparing homosexuality to having sex with kids and a white guy bashing Barack Obama because he was born in Kenya.

Hell, a white guy saying he doesn't like ANYTHING about Obama's policies is called a racist.  You must be new here.

The nonsense about Kenya makes sense as far as calling them a bigot / racist etc.  Not, though, when someone dislikes one of his policies, yet that's a typical move.

It mostly happens when someone dislikes one of his policies that is virtually identical to policies of previous presidents.

They were only equated in the sense that if the court establishes a fundamental right to redefine marriage to achieve marriage equality, those others might use that to make the claim that marriage should be redefined to give them marriage equality as well.  Justice Sotomayor made the same point, only she named other groups, those who might want incestuous marriages and polygamy.

And Carson added in the next sentence: "So it's not something that's against gays, it's against anybody who wants to come along and change the fundamental definition of pillars of society.  It has significant ramifications."

You are right. He wasn't comparing homosexuals to child molestation and bestiality, he just thought they were equal groups when it comes to opposing a redefinition of marriage.

"My thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It's a well-established, fundamental pillar of society, and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn't matter what they are. They don't get to change the definition."

I really should know better than to respond to you, but I really can't help it this time. I have to know. Are you really too stupid to see a significant difference between Sotomayor's examples and Carson's? And if not, do enjoy doing this? Because I can't imagine it's fun to consistently make completely idiotic arguments on the internet all day... Maybe you're being paid? I would consider trolling like you do for money, but certainly not for fun.

I don't see a significant difference between Sotomayor's point and Carson's point.  This is your opportunity to explain it, so that us stupid people can understand.

You have to remember; this is a guy who thinks that interracial marriage for love as a legal contract between two people has been the definition of marriage for thousands of years .

lennavan: They are the most racist people there are. Because they put you in a little category, a little box.

Yes but you putting homosexuality in the same little box as bestiality and pedophilia is okay because you're black.  Got it.

Supreme Court considers slippery slope all the time.  When they establish a precedent, they got to consider the ramifications, where it could lead.
