skullkrusher: Hyjamon: Serious Black: lennavan: Serious Black: skullkrusher: Serious Black: Ben Carson is an exceptionally talented surgeon and a farking moron otherwise. If that means I'm a racist, then smack my ass and call me David Duke.

Amazingly, this was cast for Daisy Duke:

Agreed, but couldn't resist.  Also at work and didn't quite want to search for the bikini scene from the movie.  Admittedly, I liked the movie, but it was mostly the soundtrack and driving scenes I enjoyed.

he believes the media has scorned him for lumping homosexuality in with unsavory sexual acts like bestiality and pedophilia.

I thought he was making a slippery slope argument, the same way Justice Sotomayor asked whether recognizing a fundamental right to marriage could lead to marriage based on incest.

Blue_Blazer: HighOnCraic: He's basically got Rick Santorum's views on gay marriage and Steve Forbes' tax plan; the former made Santorum an internet meme, the latter didn't make it very far in the Republican primaries.

It's a bullshiat argument that people who disagree with his opposition to gay marriage, his flat tax idea, or even his belief in Creationism must be racists.  People rejected those ideas long before Carson's moment in the sun.

That's the mistake Republicans continue to make:  they believe that they can sell unpopular ideas by using minorities or women as salespeople.  They still haven't learned their lesson from 2008.

Don't tell that to my "Independent" dad.  He's convinced that all the GOP needs is a minority candidate and they will soar to the Presidency in 2016.  He really does believe that "minorities" (as if they can all be grouped together anyway) will support any minority over a white person, regardless of party.  I ask him about Allen Keys and Herman Cain but he usually changes the subject to "that damn Obama."

Alan Keyes was the Freepers favorite "We'd love to vote for a truly conservative black man!" candidate.  I don't think he ever won more than 8% in any of the numerous primaries of his presidential runs.

/But he did get arrested once for trying to get into a debate venue.

If you read the transcript, Sotomayor said the exact opposite about incest.

Meaning, what State restrictions with respect to the number of people, with respect to - that could get married - the incest laws, the mother and child, assuming that they are the age - I can - I can accept that the State has probably an overbearing interest on - on protecting a child until they're of age to marry, but what's left?

it is funny how farkers in this thread are doing exactly what Ben Carson says they are doing:

"They need to shut me up, they need to delegitimize me," Carson told the radio host

also, when 100% of the vote from individual precincts in philadelphia go to democrats, they are on the plantation.  You are not allowed to wander off the plantation.

You want to talk about a lack of diversity of thought or opinion allowed?  This is the plantation Carson is talking about:

It's one thing for a Democratic presidential candidate to dominate a Democratic city like Philadelphia, but check out this head-spinning figure: In 59 voting divisions in the city, Mitt Romney received not one vote. Zero. Zilch.

These are the kind of numbers that send Republicans into paroxysms of voter-fraud angst, but such results may not be so startling after all.

"We have always had these dense urban corridors that are extremely Democratic," said Jonathan Rodden, a political science professor at Stanford University. "It's kind of an urban fact, and you are looking at the extreme end of it in Philadelphia."

Apart from that, the fact that one restriction on the right to marry has no compelling state interest backing it up does not necessarily mean that other restrictions also lack a compelling state interest backing them up. Personally, I'd say the ban on incest has a particularly compelling interest. The point behind a marriage is to create a stable pair. If I, as a hypothetical father, were to express romantic interest in my son or daughter, that would almost certainly destabilize the marriage I had with my husband or wife, and it would also probably cause my child a lot of angst that would hinder their growth.

Yes, I certainly was offended by this one. They ran it incessantly:

www.barackobama.net

"Hello, my name is Barack Obama. For the last four years, I have done an absolutely shiatty job running this nation. Running it into the ground, more like, am I right??

Ha, no seriously, I really prefer sleeping to governing. Or pretty much anything else. You have no idea how comfy that chair is in the oval office. Lulls you right to sleep, even in the most dire security briefings.

Tell the truth, this is a pretty shiatty job. Tons of stress. I really would rather head back to Hawaii and spend my days smoking some quality bud, and then passing out on the beach after a quick handy from Michelle. But hell, y'all won't pay me for that, and the four large I get doing this gig is pretty great, so I decided to run for re-election.

So vote for me white people. Otherwise you're a farking racist. You don't want to be called a racist, do you? Yeah, didn't think so. So you know what to do. Right, OK, I'm out.

Oh yeah, my name is Barack Obama, and I approved thiszzzzzzzz......"

You're not even using that response correctly. It's meant to be a snarky statement directed at those who complain about everything Obama does, including the things they would otherwise agree with.

The statement you responded to wasn't even directed at a black guy.

Basically, you saw opponents use that phrase, and now you thought you could use it too. You just performed a 'cargo-cult reply.'
