So Romney is now 1000-1. While our 'Community Organizer in Chief' with zero private sector experience is still 0-1000. Got it!

Glad to see a rich man's toy company finally making a profit thanks to a half a billion dollar loan from the government.

Not to mention the rich folks that buy one get a nice tax credit for doing so.

That Mitt said that actually makes perfect sense.

Mitt all about devaluing companies so they can be sold off to other countries that generate tax breaks for the big-butted investors?

Or something like that.

I'm the leader of the cool kids.  I'm that jerk in the movie who has the hot girlfriend that the protagonist really likes and the audience really hopes he gets the girl, but in real life she stays with me.

Then I say "HA" and me and my cool kid friends go to do drugs and party with Obama.

But its so fun to hear about him. Rich guy tries to buy election, insults 47% of the country, only gets 47% of the vote. Republicans still upset the usurper is in office and the mere mention of Romney makes them upset. Lets keep poking the dynamite monkey.

Your well-presented and researched rebuttal has completely swayed me.  I am now looking beyond every standard metric of measuring economic health, as they are obviously skewing numbers to get Obama reelected.  Since I discovered the U26 employment numbers, I realize it's all a sham.

Thank you.

Dr Dreidel: Compared to what?

// let's look month-to-month starting in January 2007 or so, shall we?

Sure..

Percentage of people at 125% or below of the poverty rate

2007: 17%
2008: 17.9%
2009: 18.7%
2010: 19.8%
2011: 19.8%

The U-6 unemployment rate is virtually unchanged since 2009

So you can point to the DOW and pretend the economy is improving, or you can see how the lower/middle class is performing and see it's not too hot.

2013-04-03 11:54:55 AM
Mitt's right, Motortrend is still wrong.

Must be nice to get most of your money from the Governments, State (http://www.calwatchdog.com/2012/10/12/calif-throws-a-taxpayer-subsidy -at-tesla-motors/) and National (http://blogs.wsj.com/venturecapital/2012/03/22/economics-tesla-ceo-go vernment-subsidies-are-usually-bad/) and probably Local, too.

If it wasn't for direct government infusions, Tesla would be broke.

Unchanged? It changed a lot since 2009. It went way up and now it's coming back down.

\Of course you know this but you're just being a dishonest hack.

MugzyBrown: So you can point to the DOW and pretend the economy is improving, or you can see how the lower/middle class is performing and see it's not too hot.

That's what now - a sixty year trend? You think Obama or anyone else is going to fix that?

2013-04-03 12:08:33 PM

MugzyBrown: The U-6 unemployment rate is virtually unchanged since 2009

That takes a special kind of stupid to actually believe. In 4 years, it's back to where it was, but in the interim, the U6 was up near 9-10%, now it's back under 8 (I can haz 7.5% last month?). (Or am I thinking U3? Regardless, they both spiked up in the last 4 years, and are now back to where they were. Progress!)

Also, by that logic, no one made any money from 2000-2008 since the Dow and most other economic/financial metrics went nowhere (if they didn't go down) between 2000 and 2008.

And your poverty rate numbers suggest that inflation is hurting people and/or we need to raise the minimum wage. Also that there was a MAJOR FARKING RECESSION from 2008-2010, which wiped out many peoples' incomes (600-700,000 jobs lost in 2008 alone IIRC), and may be contributing to a long-term trend.

Regardless, the point remains that by virtually every metric our monthly performance has improved. 36 or 38 straight months of job growth. Incomes are going up this year despite the OMG TAX INCREASES! and OMG SEQUESTER! Housing is recovering (there's a glut of inventory. Don't screw it up this time, OK?). You can find numbers that go against this trend, but you're ignoring the obvious at that point.

Dr Dreidel: That takes a special kind of stupid to actually believe.

I farked that up. "It takes a special kind of stupid to believe that The U-6 unemployment rate is virtually unchanged since 2009 matters."

Mitt isn't a businessman in the classic sense.  He's a businessman in the "I rob banks and get away with it because I wear a suit and not a ski mask" sense.

Step 1:  "Invest" in Troubled, Inc.
Step 2:  Have Troubled, Inc borrow hundreds of millions of dollars.
Step 3:  Pay yourself most of that money in "consulting fees" for advising Troubled, Inc to borrow all that cash.
Step 4:  You did such a good job consulting, pay yourself a bonus.
Step 5:  Hey, where did all this cash go?
Step 6:  Troubled, Inc files for bankruptcy, is carved into bits and sold to foreign investment firms.

They're doing it with Guitar Center right now.
