Babwa Wawa: Most of those are tin-foil hat notions, but "Aliens exist" should not be conflated with the notion that "Aliens exist and anally probe people in advance of an invasion".
nocturnal001: Lizard people? That seems like such a random delusion.
Muta: nocturnal001: Lizard people? That seems like such a random delusion. That is what the government wants you to think.
Archae hippy: So the fact that we were intentionally misled about Iraq WMD's is a conspiracy?
Boxcutta: Muta: nocturnal001: Lizard people? That seems like such a random delusion. That is what the government wants you to think.I used to believe in them until the government changed my mind. (I watch a lot of tv).
tolallorti: I liked the one about the CIA developing crack. Don't really think they did, but at the same time it wouldn't surprise me.
Ned Stark: Bush intentionally misled America about Iraq's WMDHardly comperable to doubting the farking moon landing.
nocturnal001: I get what you guys are saying but the vast majority of these folks aren't answering yes to "aliens exist in the universe" but rather "aliens are visting us and abducting people".Yesterday there was a thread about sleep paralysis and how it usually brings in a feeling of dread like somebody is in the room and often sexual feelings. It is plainly obvious that all these abudction stories are episodes of sleep paralysis, normal crazy type hallucinations, or hoaxes.Lizard people? That seems like such a random delusion.
Nuuu: If you believe that Bush & Co. started from the assumption that Iraq had WMDs, and mostly just looked for evidence that reinforced their belief, then that's been documented a thousand times over.
exick: 47% of people think aliens do not exist?
t3knomanser: Nuuu: If you believe that Bush & Co. started from the assumption that Iraq had WMDs, and mostly just looked for evidence that reinforced their belief, then that's been documented a thousand times over.Yeah, it's really on that "intentionally" part.
HMS_Blinkin: Well they were certainly "intentional" about pursuing the conclusion that they had already reached
nocturnal001: Archae hippy: So the fact that we were intentionally misled about Iraq WMD's is a conspiracy?Lot's of nuance there. Did they make up the whole thing? I don't think so, Saddahm did want WMDs he just wasn't in a position to do much about it. So I'd say the threat was very much overblown, combined with some plain old imcompetence. (I think)
LiberalWeenie: I can't imagine any interpretation of "Hussein was involved in 9/11" that could be considered a conspiracy theory.
cardex: I think it's a reference to hitchhikers guide
F42: LiberalWeenie: I can't imagine any interpretation of "Hussein was involved in 9/11" that could be considered a conspiracy theory.Hussain was a co-conspirator of that crime that involved more than one person. That's what a conspiracy is. You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means.
Gunther: Jesus, 51% buy the JFK conspiracy theory?Oliver Stone has a lot to answer for.
TommyymmoT: I'm very surprised that "The Government Controls Minds with TV", only came in at 15%.TV content, and lack of content has been influencing us since it's inception, by setting social norms of dress, behavior, purchasing decisions, morality etc.TV is the main reason Americans think their country is number 1 in every area, when in fact, we are number one in the world at absolutely nothing, except military might.
BojanglesPaladin: 6% of the 1,247 people they got to answer the phone at the end of March think Osama Bin Laden is still alive. That means they found 75 people who thought that was possible. They found 62 people who think Paul McCartney died in 1966, and 50 people who think lizard people rule the world. In all likelihood, these are all the same few dozen whackadoos.
