The same thing happened when Axe Cop the comic book was a better, more fun, and more logical story than roughly 90% of what the comic book companies were releasing.

I think I recognize "assistant crack whore" over "professional network brainstormers " as a respectable vocation.

Did the 5 year old tell you to post it to fark and pay to get it greenlit, too?

God I hate this viral marketing sh*t. Eff off every damn one of you. Not clicking, not watching, DIAF.

This isn't a paid or sponsored link. I saw it in the queue and liked it because I saw one of the "Axe Cop" shorts a few years ago and it made me laugh.

Maybe Dr. McNinja will make a special appearance.

Freaking Axe Cop is awesome I ran into through an Ask Axe Cop ended up reading it from the beginning and it lead me to discover Dr. MCNinja

The one major problem with Axe Cop is that it definitely has a finite life.

I mean, the kid's going to grow up, and that will be the end of it.

...unless he grows up and wants to become a writer, and continues Axe Cop.

Dr McNinja needs his own show.

/that would be rad

Agreed on the first two, but no amount of snark can make that story logical. The genius of it its total lack of logical story.

I clicked the link and read nothing that represented a 5 year old's idea beating out professional network brainstormers.  Is it sleep deprivation or is subby just a big smelly jerkface?

This has been done elsewhere, and better I might add

I cannot think of a better person to voice Axe Cop than Nick Offerman, just saying.

2013-04-03 11:51:54 AM
I think a better gimmick would be.... Triceracopter!

Part man.
Part helicopter.
Part triceratops.

ALL cop.

I don't know. "Axe Cop" comic and comic strip are pretty funny, in small doses. But that preview of the animated version kind-of sucked. I don't think the premise lends itself to animation. Everything is too ridiculous.

It's kind-of like how Wonder Woman seems pretty bad-ass in the comics, but once you put a real woman in that costume, the whole thing becomes unbelievably campy.

Rather see Dr. McNinja make it to tv. Of course, I would really love to see Ninja High School done by the team that makes Teen Titans.

Man.... and still I get the door slammed in my face when I try to pitch Ghastly's Ghastly Anime.

Which still makes it better than 90% of the competition, as noted.

Nick Offerman with a mustache FTW.

I won't speak to the relative merits of the comic/upcoming show. I'm just completely burnt out on "lol over-the-top nonstop wackiness".

The Axe Cop shorts are pretty damn hilarious.  I'll probably check the show out, but I'll keep a healthy grain of skepticism.  I don't know how well it would lend itself to a full season of 20 minute cartoons.

2013-04-03 12:39:17 PM
Wow that was kind of painful to watch.

2013-04-03 12:40:51 PM
It would be far better than Allen Gregory, at the very least.

Yes... There is hope for my animated sitcom idea I made up when I was 14!

Oh now Ninja Highschool would be fun, maybe back to back with Gold Digger if that comic still runs

This passes as "good and funny"?

Seriously?

And yet, so many better shows get cancelled.

imfallen_angel: This passes as "good and funny"?

The message here is: YMMV.  Some comedies/cartoons may tickle your funny bone, some won't. "Futurama" is a prime example of a great show that didn't get the ratings it deserved and thus, got cancelled.  Yet there was enough demand that it would come back.

And yet, so many better shows get cancelled.

Hey, no argument here.

Wow.  Lots of "professional network brainstormers" popping up in the thread.  I'm guessing they come from the same lot that turned down a Joss Whedon "Wonder Woman" movie and now curse the fact Marvel's raking in the dough.

I need a crossover between this an Archer.
I really only want Nick Offerman and H. Jon Benjamin going back and forth at each other.

ROTFLMAO!  "Self-respecting adult"...are these the same adults that watch reality shows and think it's high-brow TV or are these the same adults that watched "Avatar" and thought it was awesome?

I don't think Axe Cop will last past one season I couldn't make it through the entire trailer how could anyone watch 21 min. of it.  Fox will drop it, maybe Adult Swim will pick it up seeing some of the garbage they show.

No, Brainiac, I am referring to the person you included in your "professional network brainstormer" snark, namely, me. This "programming" is the occupation of idiots, or, as I initially wrote, kidiots. And I mean all of it, not just one blip of a show in an idiotic universe of ididotic shows. Suggesting that my contempt is somehow equal to a frustrated interest is completely askew of my point.
