Except that the three pieces taken out are the bankers bonuses, and the three pieces put back in are the taxpayers socializing the losses.

Maybe it's obvious to everyone, but in case it isn't, look closely at the seam that he keeps moving things along right after each camera cut; the seam doesn't align perfectly until he's done moving things. That's where the extra pieces come from and how they go back in. He's swapping pieces of tile with each camera cut.

It's a really cool variation on the disappearing Chinaman illusion, by Sam Loyd.

I saw Mr Wizard do that with one of those dumb kids on his show about 25 years ago.  It's nothing new.

at :56 the middle seams are not lined up just after pulling them out of the box when they were lined up, not coincidentally after the camera cut but because of the camera cut.  the cut then happens again at 2:34 as he's pulling them out of the box.  this is where the 'magic' happens.

and yeah, this is a great reminder of that other thread.  it was still neat to see once before the lifting the curtain.

That works only because bankers don't know geometry.

It's real to me goddamnit!

I don't believe what other Farkers are posting here about shapes and stuff.

/What is this geometry thingy that everyone keeps talking about?
