Canada has overzealous staffer/scapegoats too? Then it shouldn't be long before the US declares war to take their supply.

Any brave conservative farkers going to come in here with the "well if they were dumb enough to be fooled by a robocall they are too dumb to vote" defense on this one?

Canadian Conservative = American Blue Dog. So probably not going to see many conservatives on Fark coming to the defense of liberals who got caught trolling even more liberal liberals.

We'll get right on declaring war on those icelanders.

Well, I hope someone goes to jail for this. This kind of crap might be par for the course for Americans, but up here, such actions are beyond the pale.

Why is there any reason to restrict people to a particular polling station anymore?  If you're using electronic ballots, I should be able to go wherever and get the ballot I need.

Is Canada's finance minister 16 years old?

We check a box on a printed piece of paper.   Our name is crossed off a voters list that is printed after advanced polls close.

They're actually building a pipeline to send zealous staffers down south... no need for war, it's Canada, they do as they're told, and they apologize for it.

Seems implausible that one junior staffer had the resources to pull off such a broad, targeted and secretive operation.

And I'm sure it'll be found out that the staffer acted alone and without any guidance from the party.  Nothing to see here citizen.

No electronics involved here, and I think that's just fine.

Well, a reasonable person would just go to their original polling station.  Totally a non-issue involving an overzealous junior staff member.  Look at how farking cute this kitten is!!  Just look at it!!

Why do all young conservative/Republican have the same air of douche to them? This guy reminds of James O'keefe.

I can see Satan finally made it to Canada.  That tall, skinny guy looks absolutely possessed.  Don't stare at his eyes.

This guy's a party true-believer and will be well rewarded when this is all over.  No way he's gonna roll over and sing.

This is the douchebag that tried to steal a ballot box at the U of Guelph.

Two weeks ago he was insisting that he was being used as a scapegoat and that others higher-up were involved.  Be interesting to see whether he names names or not now that he's actually being charged with a crime.

Yeah, I saw the interview with Evan Solomon.  I really think he's gonna take the fall, all the while protesting his innocence.

It seems to be a universal truth that the right-wing party feels it needs to cheat in order to stay viable.

Good.

If he's innocent, then I hope that his name will be cleared and he will be released with haste, as it should be.

But shiat like this, however small its reach, to subvert the democratic process needs to be dealt with in the swiftest and severest terms. Start to let it slide, and you might as well become a dictatorship.

Hey, the Grits I can deal with.  Having a party that equates privacy rights with pedophilia, sells "tough on crime" bullshiat to the public and tries to curtail unemployment fraud by screwing everyone going on EI?  That's not the kind of Canada I'm interested in.

A little white kid from the burbs who will be facing real jail time in a real prison with real criminals?  He'll be naming names faster then the prosecutors can write them down, shred them, and forget he ever said anything.

So the re-do election is next week? You know because of voting fraud by the party in power and hey quit laughing. I'm really serious here. Come on stop it.

What, and be subject to fraud, tampering and malfeasance? ...that's American.

In Canada, we do it the RIGHT way:

While I'm sure there are a few judicial reasons not to, I'm okay with his Lawyers suggestions. Have a full inquiry and investigation, and then press charges on anyone involved, not just this asshole.

But if that is not to be, and he is guilty, I'm happy if he goes away for a long time. It's politics, and we can't allow anything American-like at all to enter our system lest we become what is an international abomination.
