He wanted to demonstrate to the judge his excellent driving and parking skills by parking perfectly in the judges spot so not to go unnoticed.

From a customer service perspective, the defendant should get the better parking space. Show me any retail establishment where the employees take the best parking spots.

Good to see that a felony conviction of DWI (DUI) gets the same slap on the wrist like any other state...  Just saying.

A Chief Petty Officer shall not drink.
However, if he should drink he shall not get drunk
If he should get drunk, he shall not stagger.
And if he should stagger, he shall not fall.
If he should fall, he shall not be arrested for DUI.
If he is arrested for DUI, he shall not drive himself to the courthouse.
If he should drive himself to the courthouse, he should not park in the judge's space.
If he should park in the judge's space, He shall do so in such a manner as to cover up his rank so that passerbyers will think he is an officer.
