I do believe selling a daughter is biblically  acceptable and is know as traditional marriage

What's the rule on just giving them to some strange 75 year old woman in the parking lot?

The old woman was the girls grandmother.  Basically giving up custody in exchange for money.  Kind of a fake news story.

Right.  Somehow, it seems better for the child to let this transaction go through...

Apparently in the State of Washington it is legal for one parent of a child to sell the child to the other parent. Read that in a book of legal wit and humor a day or two ago.

I don't see the point, but I suppose there are special circumstances in which it would make sense to sell out your half-share, cut your losses and run.

Interesting. I wonder how much my brother needs to pay his wife for his kids. I mean, she already proposed the solution that they go halfsies... he keeps one, she keeps the other... So maybe she'll take a few grand to let him keep both and she GTFO out of their lives? Now, if only he'd move here and make it work.

/Yes, I hate my sister-in-law.

Grandma will probably get her for free now - pretty shrewd move on Grandma's part
