(C|Net)   Next two iPhones may have been designed under Steve Jobs. I can't imagine what they smell like at this point   (news.cnet.com) divider line 8

Random Anonymous Blackmail: Designed can mean something as simple as a drawing on a napkin.

"It'll be like the iPhone, except more powerful and with new features."

JohnAnnArbor: Someone may have already said this: it's entirely possible he did help design some future devices that Apple (and subcontractors) were not, immediately, capable of mass-producing.  Some new screen technology (that wrap-around patent from last week) or some battery or miniature fuel cell or whatever.  It doesn't mean they're holding out on us; sometimes the technology exists but isn't mass-producible at first.

This is a sensible and logical post. What's it doing in this thread?

GreenAdder: So if Apple already has two more advanced phones, why aren't they released yet?

"We're waiting for the price of components to come down" is not a valid answer. Apple already knows they could scribble the Apple logo on a brick and sell it for $3,000.

Where do I line up for the iBrick?

Ladies and gentleman I bring to you ... the pad and pencil.

At first I was skeptical about it's robustness, but then I unlocked the full potential of the awesome organizational ability it contained within.   Note taking, scheduling, task listing, contacts ... it does it all. Clean. Simple. Elegant. Functional. Dependable. Light weight. Intuitive.

I tried pad and pencil, but I was getting 172,800,000 ms latency on all my packets.

So they'll be a bit too small and you won't be able to do much multitasking and the maps will suck. But I wouldn't worry about it too much, after these two surely his influence will be gone and they can put together a truly nice product.

dangelder: MightyPez: Because you don't cannibalize your existing products just to release something new?

It isn't that.

Clearly I've been told with that level of discourse.
