Also, if he strikes out Corporan, he will have struck out each member of the lineup at least once. Has that ever happened before in a perfect game?

It's hard to pitch a perfect game, even against an AAA team.

Well, better that it got blown up that way, than

a) one of his teammates screws up
b) bad call by an umpire
c) he either walks or hits the batter

You could tell that smile on his face was the equivalent of "Missed it by *that* much"

why take him out there?  CG SO not worth anything?  only 111 pitches in.

Now I'm hoping Rutledge gets a walk so CarGo has the bases loaded in Col-Mil.

damn, at least CarGo didn't strike out.

Baseball managers don't care about fantasy counting stats. Plus you generally don't want to overuse a pitcher, especially early in the year. That last out could take another 9 pitches or more, which add up over the course of a season. And the general trend in pitcher maintenance has been to limit the number of pitches thrown per game, usually maxing out between 110-120 pitches.

I will never forget the night Armando pitched his perfect game. Sorry Texas fans.
