"I am a fascist, not a racist"

Problem here being the average person only knows they think both are bad things and sound the same. Conclusion jumping typically ensues.

To be fair most facists are also racists so it is easy to lump to two together. Di Canio has proven himslef to be a complex person full of contradictions.

Just look at this red card an pushing a ref vs this act of sportsmanship when the keeper was down injured

He can't hate Jews either, since he bought some Matzos last week.

White. White is a colour/color.

He's played the media/public perception game pretty well IMO...

1. Go on record saying you're a fascist.
2. Get criticised for being a fascist.
3. Adamantly deny being racist.
4. Media go through your history to see if there's evidence you're a racist, don't find much (if anything).
5. General conclusion: those lefties are always making a big deal over nothing.

Why isn't that a defense?

I believe in many generalizations about particular races, but am not so prejudiced as to reject an individual for a job, or for a friend based on their race.

I have black friends. And yet, I will still make a racial joke. Yes, even to them.

Di Canio may or may not be a racist, or a fascist or whate have you.

But he was definitely the one thing that was worse than all those things combined: an employee of Swindon Town FC.

As they say:
"When the red, red robin
comes bob, bob, bobbing along
SHOOT THE BASTARD!
SHOOT THE BASTARD!
SHOOT THE BASTARD! "
