Psycat: Real 16-year-olds usually don't want to have sex with random creeps they meet on Facebook

At least not the ones you'd want to have sex with, anyway...

UtopianDevil: MNguy: It's kind of creepy how many Farkers are so familiar with age of consent laws.

Creepy, or they work with law enforcement - you know, those people that tend to know the laws.

Or both.

Knowing the law and your legal rights = creepy?

Everyone was young once.

UtopianDevil: untaken_name: Neondistraction: And as someone else already pointed out, merchants aren't required to check for ID unless the card is unsigned.

Which would first require them to examine the card, which no retailer I've done business with in the past 5 years has done.

I haven't signed the back of a credit card in over ten years. No merchant has ever mentioned it.

I signed mine with 'poop' and a little drawing of a turd with flies. In 7 years I've had one person go 'uh....okay', but that was about it.

Psycat: I've known way too many people like this guy.  Fat, balding, middle-aged, not rich or famous, just average or even below-average--and yet they have the delusion that smoking-hot 16-year-olds without serious mental issues just want to throw their bodies at them.  WTF?

Wait, it's NOT true? I'm 45, not 41. How about 18 then instead of 16? Anyone? Anyone.....

16 is legal in the majority of the county, ya'll just jealous you've never scored.

ongbok: This shiat has been going on a lot around here also.

I got just one question. Does this whole meeting up with teens you met on Facebook ever result in anything other than Chris Hansen, delivering yourself to the cops, or an ass kicking and getting robbed? Do people ever really end up having sex with a 16 year old?

Does it ever end in sex? Sure.  It's kind of like when you see a smoking hot girl with an ugly asshole guy, and you wonder WTF.  Some how she finds him desirable, the same happens with teenage girls and older guys.

Don't listen to this advice because in almost every state if you are over 21 you will go to jail listening to him. And in some states if you are over 17 or 18 you will go to jail listening to him.

Well considering I'm fat, ugly and broke I am sure I'll never need to take that advice. Thanks for the warning though.

tb tibbles: Ral: Why were they able to use his credit cards?  Did the merchants not even bother to ask for ID with a gaggle of teenagers buying tons of expensive shiat?

Both Visa and MasterCard prohibit merchants from requiring customer ID as a condition for accepting their credit or debit cards. All you need is a signed card, and of course the signatures must match.
http://news.consumerreports.org/money/2011/02/id-credit-card-debit-c ar d-require-kmart-sears-policy-mastercard-american-express.html

Another story goes that some stores were profiling their customers. They carded minorities even in business suits and let other lighter shades in grungy clothes go ahead. The card companies saw lawsuits and government investigation headed their way, so they washed their hands of ID requirements.

Hi honey. Oh what a day. That Kellerman project is eating up all my time at work. I had to skip lunch. Sorry I'm late. I was driving home and there were 4, no, 6 full grown men beating up this teenage girl. Well, I had to stop the car and stop this horrible attack. No! No one else was doing anything about it. I called 911 but I got a busy signal. I guess that's because of the sequestration/fiscal cliff thing, right? Anyhow, I jumped right in. they didn't see me coming and I got the drop on them. A few karate chops and they ran like cowards. Well, I couldn't leave the girl there so I put her in the car and we drove to the hospital. She was really beaten up!

When I got to the hospital, I realized that I must have dropped my wallet. I'll bet it was when I was doing that flying roundhouse kick to the biggest, baddest guy. It really took him down. So I drove back to where I fought them and looked around. I saw them coming out of an Ambercrombie and Finch store with a bunch of stuff and my wallet so I laid in to them again. I went full Jackie Chang(*) on them.

I was so afraid that I might kill them with my patented Death Punch of Death, that I had to step back and let them limp away. They'll probably stop their even ways and join a ministry.

Anyhow, let me tell you about that Kellerman. He keeps submitting changes even though the close date was last week. The boss plays golf with him so he says "Let Kellerman get what he wants. He brought 14% more business in last year. He doesn't even use the correct change request form. He e-mails me the stuff and I have to fill out the form and chase him down to sign it.

(*) I know. He doesn't. Did you lose your place? I often do when there's a (*) and I look at the bottom of the page to see what it referring to. I really hate it when you gotta go to the end of the book to look. And it's a damn Michael Crichton novel and you have to dig though "Chapter 3 - 2 The Welsh Doctrine stated in 1992 that only a specific blend of cheeses and standard toast could constitute Welsh Rabbit. This was amended in 1994 with the Denny's Welsh Amendment when Texas Toast could be substituted. Welsh, Denny's Welsh Doctrine 1992 (amended 1994)." And it turns out, Michael Crichton made all this crap up! I cited a bunch of his stuff in college term papers. I'm not giving back my associate's degree in liberal arts just because he can't tell the truth.

Back in 1989 I was working at a bookstore. Being young and naive I took phrase that at face value and attempted to refuse an unsigned card from a patron. My manager gave me a Tommy Lee Jones look and says, "No one cares." Even 25 years ago the signature on the back was just security theatre.

Thus ends the lesson and CSB for the day.

Middle Aged Delusional Syndrome could explain it. However, if you are fat and balding at 41, that's gotta be hard psychologically. If you can believe that a transexual can be born in the wrong gender body, it's not that hard to believe that someone could feel in the wrong age body.

Plenty of celebs are walking around with models half their age. The delusion is real, but it is also well-advertised.

Visa and Mastercard originally intended for the cardholder's signature to be their ID. That was part of the convenience factor when credit cards were first introduced. And it stayed that way until last year, when they both updated their merchant agreements to allow them to request ID, presumably due to identity theft issues and the fact that, in general, most low- wage retail clerks aren't handwriting experts and generally don't give a shiat beyond MAYBE a quick glance at the card. Actually, this was sometimes used as a way to get shiat for free: Person buys something, person pays with credit card, and signs with a totally different signature. Person then calls credit card company, reports card stolen, card company asks merchant for verification, then performs chargeback when merchant can't prove it was the cardholder who made the purchase.

Both Indiana (where the FTA states this took place) and Ohio are absolute consent at 16 states.  Both Ohio and Indiana have provisions for consent when both parties are 13-16 and it's NOT statutory rape in those instances.

For me "Middle Aged Delusional Syndrome" is when someone who is not a celeb, not attractive either physically or mentally, and who is clearly by every metric inferior to a younger person persists in thinking that now, at 40+, it's the best time of his life.

You can be the best you can be, but better than a 20 something? Please. I can feel the decay in my body and I *know* my brain is falling apart. There's nothing good or fun or sexy about aging. Some people just want to live youth vicariously.

I can't blame them, but you have to be honest with yourself.

The beauty of this is that the girl can contact him again on Facebook, apologize, saying it was never her intention, but her brother found out and he set up the whole thing as a 'lesson'. A couple of nude pics later, and she can meet up with the guy where they can rob him again.

Actually, the 16 year old is lucky she isn't rotting in a shallow grave or a 50 gallon barrel in some place so remote her remains will never be found.  What happens if the guy had turned out to be a serial killer? or simply smelled a trap, didn't go the house as planned, and in an ensuing struggle she got stabbed or shot?  Very dangerous game she was playing, counting on her charm and instincts to keep her safe until she brought prey into the trap.  Sometimes the prey becomes the hunter.

There is no jackpot here, everybody lost.
