Your first mistake was using Siri for anything serious.

bunner: Speaking of statistics, here's some.

I wouldn't buy it, though,  I mean, the bureau of labor statistics just makes sh*t up.  Hey, for all I know, they do although how they'd make money on it eludes me.  Not to mention that electronics manufacturing has all but been exported wholesale since the early  '80s.  We're running out of things to make that people need, the resources to make them and while modern electronics manufacturing is in decline all over the world, it was a sandwich we never got a very big bite of.  So no, comparatively we don't make a whole of stuff here anymore.  And land, water, minerals and things are wealth, not bank notes.  And the people pocketing those notes from offshore products ain't tipping the barista or the maid in the triple digits.  Don't even bother with the fact that US companies who still make things aren't very big on OJT.  It's changed.  And to believe otherwise is your privilege, but don't stumblef*ck up to me with a mouthful of snotty remarks and tell me otherwise.

Interesting. People have been saying for decades we don't make things in America, and now I see by the amazing graph you have presented that we only haven't made anything since 2001. What does the right side of the graph scale represent? I'm a dullard, I'm afraid, and am curious as to what all those scary numbers mean.

Waze has turned into shiat, but that's just my opinion. I'm happier paying $20/year to get directions sans advertisement from another vendor, as per the Capitalism Experience (TM). Different things are important to different people, and it's okay.

I hit the "show posts from ignored users" radio button for a quick refresh.  No idea why.

Good headline. Subby gets one free internet, not good with any other offer or coupon. Limit one per person.

durbnpoisn: I have an Android, so no Siri.  But I still want to chime in and whine about invasive advertising...  Even if it is completely unrelated to cellphones, Apple or anything else...

How is it that we pay $160 for cable (if you're lucky), you get all these extra channels bundled together (no al la carte choicing), and even though you already PAY for the channel, you still have to sit through a ridiculous number of commercials?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, capatalism, bla bla bla.  It's still farked up.

Not only that, but considering some of those channels are home shopping channels, and the other channels are packed with shiatty reality shows that cost next to nothing to produce, they're really screwing you.

I also enjoy that while people scream about how distracting using even a hands-free cellphone is while you drive, I haven't heard much said about the glut of literally blinding electronic billboards blinking phone numbers in your face. "I know we're on the freeway & all, but could take the wheel for a minute? I gotta jot down this number for this varicose vein center!"

FrancoFile: Yeah, that's why I still use these things called maps.

So you forgo the superiority and convenience of GPS directions simply to avoid something that might happen some day in the future?

Your intellect is truly dizzying.

I forego the spoon-feeding of GPS directions so that I actually know something about where I am, how I got there, and what's around me.  Spatial cognizance is a good thing.
