uncleacid: Flat cat is not watching you.
boinkingbill: It was her carrier, she put the cat in it and the cat got out and got run over.
CeroX: Ok, so here's what i'm thinking:1. IATA-Approved CarrierGoogle search pulls up this:[182265-web1.www.petrelocation.com image 120x120]2. FTFA: "On close inspection of the container, it was observed that the wire mesh in the front of the container was bent outwards and pushed out of the main frame. "I used to own one of these when I had a cat and I knew of only a couple of dogs that were strong enough to force the doors open on one of these and even then, it wasn't because they bent the door, it was because the plastic gave way... There's no way a house cat could bend the metal on one of these...3. FTFA: "India itself is not a very pet-friendly country"This doesn't surprise me, i've worked with and known Indians and most of them find the idea of pets disgusting. Conclusion: Poorly paid, poorly trained, and poorly treated Indian airline workers who have distaste for pets to begin with are given the task to transport a cat. Instead of following procedures for pets, they throw the carrier in with the rest of the luggage. It goes through the conveyers and sorters where it finally gets thrown onto a loading flat by another poorly paid, poorly treated airline worker who then stacks a few hundred pounds of luggage on top of it. The weight of the other luggage warped and bent the carrier and gate allowing the cat to escape. The cat at this point is freaked the hell out from it's ride through industrial hell and it's already in the loading area on or near the tarmac and escapes and tries to get as far away from the loud noises as fast as it's feet can take it, and right into the path of a moving vehicle...I'm sure this probably wouldn't have happened had the airline workers A) weren't paid and treated like airlines pay and treat their workers, and B) put their distaste for pets aside and actually followed pet procedures instead of treating a pet like luggage.
Kittypie070: 3. FTFA: "India itself is not a very pet-friendly country"This doesn't surprise me, i've worked with and known Indians and most of them find the idea of pets disgusting.OK, f*ck India.
