Yeah it did. Luckily they got Patrick Stewart and made a good series shortly after.

You misspelled Avery Brooks.

OK, this is a video I created. I guess I can't complain too much, as it does link back to the original video on YouTube from this LiveLink page, but this is a bit odd.

Original YouTube Link

Sadly, YouTube won't let me collect advertising revenue on it, since a copyright claims on my DERIVED work was made by several entities (including the people who own the rights to Star Trek, not actually Viacom, though, strangely enough) and a couple of entities claiming copyright over the Trololo song now.

That's part of the joke. It's supposed to be painful.

I suffer for my art, too... if you don't believe that, remember that I had to spend quite a bit of time editing that clip. In the end, though, it still makes me smile when I watch it, and plenty of people like it just fine.

I don't understand what this has to do with patent trolls.

You are both wrong. Shatnet FTW.

Trololo is Shatner's musical antimatter. Shatner performs words without a tune. Trololo performs a tune without words.

Who says Farkers have no patience or sense of humor?

Me. I say it.

Now go on and prove me right. *sigh*

Copyright does cover derived work. Their claims are entirely legitimate. That being said, well done on the idea and execution.

On the topic of edited Star Trek, there is a superb three-part series on Youtube called "What's in Spock's Scanner" that is both entertaining and quite brilliantly edited.

Part one is here -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I0SJ9HuB5k  (sorry, I can not yet get my head around how to do proper links with the new Fark tools) and I recommend it heartily to everyone except that one Farker who hated the last video I linked in a thread because he doesn't get British humour. Parts two and three are easy enough to find while you're watching the first bit.
