Egoy3k: keyboards cost at most $10 if you are buying them in bulk. I don't think degrading your workers who are doing a skilled job is worth saving a couple of hundred bucks a year, if that much even. The issue is confrontation. We seem to be terrified of it these days so rather than confront the moron who eats a gigantic sub sandwich and tries to talk with his/her mouth full and constantly leaves candy wrappers all over the place they just make it 'policy' and save themselves from having a difficult conversation. The reasons for this are many but a big one is our complete lack of respect for authority in the workplace. It used to be that your boss was Mr or Mrs Smith and not Dave or Brenda and if they told you to do something you did it. These days you can't even speak sternly to workers without them having to deal with a complaint about hostile work environments or some such nonsense. </rant>
