steveGswine: Again, he's at Methodist - considering that (back when it was less safe) Methodist regularly put back together Indy car drivers who powdered their lower legs against the Turn 4 wall
pivazena: ontariolightning: Max Talbot also got stepped on by a skate on his achillesThat is why I don't go ice skating. My immediate fear is my fingers, not my achilles, but same idea
Lord Zardoz: If you can shatter your shin and come back in a sport where your opponent will try to kick you in that leg hard enough to shatter it again, then I would assume a basketball player ought to be able to come back too.
hugram: Don't Kentucky fans hate Louisville? Must be a bitter-sweet thing for Drew. The injury was gruesome. Saw it live with my brother-in-law, while our wives had just gotten up to help his parents to start to set up the dining table for Easter dinner. They missed the injury by one minute.I did not realize the bone actually came out of the skin until seeing some of the links from this thread.I hope he recovers wells.
puffy999: Why do people keep acting as if Joe Theismann's legs were ripped from his body and thrown into the stands?Anyway, I'd be very afraid to be this kid and to have an injury like this. Losing the end of your career to a tackle must suck, but potentially losing your career early because you landed?
SlothB77: Shanahan says he'll be ready to go for their next game
Great Porn Dragon: Probably because (well, short of Malarchuk, but Clint Malarchuk gets his own very special category for pretty much having his jugular cut on ice and sticking his thumb in the wound to keep from bleeding out) up until the Wade Incident the Theismann injury was probably the worst injury (to a human, anyways) that people had seen on live television.

ZoSo_the_Crowe: http://thebiglead.fantasysportsven.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/ 2 013/03/pain.gifVERY GRAPHIC CONTENT. You will be able to see the bone sticking out of the leg.For those who missed it.
hershy799: on a scale of 1 to Theismann, how bad was the injury?
seadoo2006: I think the guys in the bench say it all ... good god ... O_o
IAmRight: Just knowing that it happened only because of a weird landing...good god, I don't really want to play basketball ever again./I'll still be playing tomorrow//I don't think I move fast enough or jump high enough to create the force needed for that to happen
ISO15693: It's still not as graphic as what Johan Franzen did to Joe Thornton in the Stanley cup Playoffs a couple years ago:
4seasons85!: Holy scheisse no South Park reference? What's going on Fark?
whizbangthedirtfarmer: When I first saw it, I wondered how a guy who spends much of his life leaping through the air could have had such a huge break occur on a fairly routine landing. There must have been something preexisting.

mjones73: God that was brutal, I was watching the game trying to figure out why three players were on the ground and the Duke player was holding his chest, then I saw the replay, dude picked his leg up while he was laying on this back, it was bent down on a 90, and it wasn't bent at the knee, that's all you need to know.

You would think there would be more blood.
06Wahoo: hundreddollarman: Principal Clarinet: hershy799: I didn't get to watch the game, and I refuse to watch the injury... but on a scale of 1 to Theismann, how bad was the injury?TheismannIT'S OVER 9 THEISMANNS!He went full Theismann. You never go full Theismann.
thisiszombocom: how did the injury happen? im too scared to watch.i can understand in football when there are 300lbs men hitting you while running at full speed, but in basketball?ugh, bad sports weekend in general
ds_4815: ds_4815: "Toronto police Sgt. Doodnath Churkoo..."Gesundheit....Goddammit, multiple Fark tab opening. Get your sh*t together./Duke still sucks
LegacyDL: For some reason watching the bench's reaction reminded me of Alien when the chestburster made it's famous appearance.
