I came here to mention Jet's.  They've recently been opening up locations in FL, and it's awesome.

Isn't Sicilian style an accepted variant in NY?  Detroit style is similar to Sicilian, but better.

I used to love Little Ceasers back in the old days when you got two pizzas in the long white boxes. There's a definite change in quality now that they focus on pumping out as many 5 dollar pizzas as possible.

This.

I was so excited when Little Caesars came back after having been away for years, only to be extremely disappointed after my first visit.

Yeah. I'll go get some with an armored division.

Ok I haven't had one since those days and every college memory I have of those double pizzas was that they could only be called food by using the loosest definition of the word. How is it possible they have gotten worse without killing people?

How old are you? I'm talking about 20 years or so ago.

Apparently, you can use Chicago-style as QuickClot® in an emergency situation. You sure as hell can't use it as food.

I find it.. edible.  It's really generic, but it isn't terrible.  Decent for buying a shiat ton of pizza really quickly and cheaply for some gathering (involving kids especially, since they care not).

This was >20 years ago. Little Caesars was always the last possible option for pizza.

Detroit-style pizza is pretty damn good. I used to frequent (and did a website for) a Detroit-style pizza place near my work back home. The crispy brown cheese crust is the thing.

I grew up on Pizza Hut and Little Caesar's. I can't eat either of them now.

Now there's no disputing this, Crazy Bread was awesome. Sadly, even that's not the same as it used to be.

It sounds as though Detroit has never heard of Old Forge PA

Detroit what now?

They've opened up a third front in the Pizza Wars?

Will this madness never cease?

*clicks*

Damn that actually looks pretty good.

Bonus, it would actually fit the take out box better as well.

I had "pizza" in a Ukrainian village bistro one time that consisted of ketchup, sliced zucchini, and some cheese baked on a piece of wheat bread.....

No pizza has tasted bad since.

New York style looks like a dirty napkin from a real pizza joint.

Detroit style is tremendous, but Chicago style is potentially equally good.

NY style will do if there's nothing else to eat.

Do not want.

I'm from Chicago, and this may be blasphemy, but I enjoy Chicago and NY style pizza equally.   I look at them as two different dishes, and depending on my cravings, that will dictate which I would rather have for my meal.  I like them both equally, although my Chicago pride says Chicago style is still better.  This seems more like a blend of styles, and doesn't seem too appetizing to me.

I miss the old square Little Caesar's pizza (you can still get it, but they pussed out and decided to make the round ones their standard).

So that's what Jets pizza is. It's really popular in Coumbus, but I didn't realize Detroit style was a thing. I had it at a party last weekend and it went great with heavy drinking.Damnit, now I want pizza. Stupid Easter

I just enjoy "NY Style", not thin crust and not blocky Sicilian. Cooked bread that bends and tastes good, not burnt to a crisp which makes me think I am eating charcoal bricks.  High sodium mozzarella and if the place doesn't do it right, I put the damn salt onto it myself!

People should really take care to say "Detroit-style American Pizza" or come up with a different word, since American pizza isn't the same as "Pizza" pizza.

Shield's pizza. While at MSU, it was an event to brave the neighborhood and go to Shield Street for the real thing. The crust was absolutely awesome due to exactly what TFA said.
