Aulbaugh said recently that the FBI was checking to see if Hasse's killing could be related to the killing of the head of Colorado's prison system, Tom Clements, who was gunned down after answering the doorbell at his home.
Evan Spencer Ebel, a former Colorado inmate and white supremacist who authorities believe killed Clements, was gunned down in a March 21 shootout with Texas deputies about 100 miles from Kaufman.
Aulbaugh said at the time that the investigation into whether the cases were linked was routine for attacks that appear similar. Both targeted law enforcement officials. Authorities have investigated whether Hasse's death could be linked to a white supremacist gang.

Damn. This would be a mess.

"No women, no children." was Leon's rule.

Matilda, being a woman herself, probably limits it to "No children."

No Country was well done for a period piece, but would a transmitter that small be able to go for days on end in that era with available tech? Also, we got a lesson for anyone who might find a large amount of money in a satchel: Transfer to a different bag and check for anything that shouldn't be there. Better off with a bag of loose benjiis than to have one of those bundles hide a tracker.

Investigators are looking into the deaths of a North Texas district attorney and his wife, just two months after an assistant district attorney who worked in the same office was gunned down outside the county courthouse.

Kaufman police officials said recently the FBI was checking to see if Hasse's killing was connected to the Mar. 19 killing of Colorado Department of Corrections chief Tom Clements, who was gunned down after answering the doorbell at his home.

Evan Spencer Ebel, a former Colorado inmate and white supremacist who authorities believe killed Clements and a pizza delivery man two days earlier, was gunned down in a March 21 shootout with Texas deputies about 100 miles from Kaufman County. Investigators in that case, however, have not revealed any links to Hasse's murder.

What an odd phrase. It's like something a 5-year-old would make up: "Gun him! Gun him till he's down!"

Christian Bale: What an odd phrase

It's traditionally used to denote people who were shot to death as opposed to people like James Bowie who, after being shot several times, are still alive and pissed enough to cut their shooter's hand off at the wrist and kill their brother for good measure.

I don't know who they pissed off over there in Kaufman County. But ol' Craig Watkins here in Dallas County had better watch his ass. There are probably some folks taking up a collection to use the same "service" on him. He should probably just remain in his spider hole.

I disagree. I've seen the movie at least five times and read the book last year. I loved it all, though it does get grim.

Now, The Road... I saw the movie and enjoyed it, but struggled. Tried reading the book and didn't make it past the first chapter.

Because Democrats actually assume Republicans think guns are a totally fail safe protection.

You don't know many Republicans in real life, eh.  The ones here in Texas are adorable caricatures of trolls like you.  They're convinced that crime is near non-existent in red states (expect in areas with a lot of minorities, of course) and that it runs rampant in all blue states because liberals don't believe in guns.

And Tommy Lee Jones was perfect in his. The scene where he talks about how they kill cattle with an air gun and he's SO CLOSE to getting it... Perfect.

Hmmm... Let's see what information we can piece together:

Texas DA.
Wilford Brimley 'stache.
Cowboy hat.
Assistant prosecutor shot down recently.
Did I mention Texas? Which has a criminal level of corrupt prosecutors?

Imma go with: Someone who was exonerated after a couple of decades in prison, or a relative of an innocent victim of the Texas death row express lane.
